Just had surgery.

Recommended Posts

I got my band today from Dr. Ladd Atkins in Tulsa. He is also a plastic surgeon, so he took of around 100 skin tags from my neck while I was out. I'm not nearly as sore as I thought I would be. My incisions don't hurt at all and I can even press on my port without too much pain.

I find that I have this strange almost hungry pain that is where my stomach is. I'm assuming that is the band itself. I anticipate being sore for a while and will probably be more sore tomorrow. I was able to go out and do some light shopping tonight though. Is this typical or am I just particularly lucky?

Wow - I'm getting banded next Monday, and I hope I come through it like you! Congrats on the surgery. Wish I could comment on your question, but I'm still in the pre-op stage.

You're on your way - good luck!

Congratulations on your band. Swelling is common after the band surgery. Sometimes the port area is tender because they attach the port and sew it in place. I drove the next day after my band and didn't have any pain at all. I was bloated for awhile but remember to SIP the Water. drinking lot's of Water is important and follow ant directions from your doctor. All doctor's have different rules.

Best wishes

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
