Just had surgery.

I got my band today from Dr. Ladd Atkins in Tulsa. He is also a plastic surgeon, so he took of around 100 skin tags from my neck while I was out. I'm not nearly as sore as I thought I would be. My incisions don't hurt at all and I can even press on my port without too much pain.

I find that I have this strange almost hungry pain that is where my stomach is. I'm assuming that is the band itself. I anticipate being sore for a while and will probably be more sore tomorrow. I was able to go out and do some light shopping tonight though. Is this typical or am I just particularly lucky?

Wow - I'm getting banded next Monday, and I hope I come through it like you! Congrats on the surgery. Wish I could comment on your question, but I'm still in the pre-op stage.

You're on your way - good luck!

Congratulations on your band. Swelling is common after the band surgery. Sometimes the port area is tender because they attach the port and sew it in place. I drove the next day after my band and didn't have any pain at all. I was bloated for awhile but remember to SIP the Water. drinking lot's of water is important and follow ant directions from your doctor. All doctor's have different rules.

Best wishes

Congrats on your band!
