I'm a little more than 3 weeks post op and eating soft foods. I do 1 Protein Shake (divided into 2 meals), 1 snack (yogurt or cottage cheese) and 1 meal a day. I've had grilled chicken and veggies and eggs for the main part and I'm still so extremely constipated. I've taken Ducolax and it has helped but are there any other tips? :(

Since I've had the band, I have to be more careful about having too many dairy products. That was never really a problem before, but I think the sheer volume of food I ate kept everything moving.

Oh my goodness I am 3 weeks out and having the same problem. Well I was. Until yesterday when I got the stomach bug. Ugh! Totally the opposite problem now. Anyway, I am adding a stool softener daily (when I am feeling better) and eating Activia. Hoping that will keep me going. (Pun intended). Good luck!

High Protein in its self causes Constipation. I would add a stool softener but if you can stomach it drink a large glass of warm prune juice. It should cause an explosive affect lol

About 5 weeks since my surgery, I am having the same problem and am almost sure this is why I'm not losing much weight. I can feel the fullness in my lower belly and it's so uncomfortable. I took 2 dulcolax on Friday, which helped me drop 2 pounds this weekend. I need to figure out a long term plan. I am only "going" like once a week. :(

I am so miserable right now. I am waiting on the Dr to call back to tell me it is ok to take a stool softener.

I take a half dose of Miralax every day, under docs orders to maintain normal bowel activity. Miralax is tasteless and dissolves in any liquid. I highly recommend it. The only thing that worked for me. I feel your pain!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
