Watch what you put inside your mouth. Make sure its Protein first, then anything else for 1 cup a meal. Don't drink liquids with the meal so you stay fuller, longer in time.

Best wishes

I had one fill( 3ccs in a 9cc band) and I'm still fighting near constant hunger. The only thing I noted is that I HAVE to eat slowly and CHEW or I get what I believe is "stuck." I had to bring up some food the other day( I think folks call it "slime." I was adequately disgusted and learned my lesson about eating fast!

I have had three fills and still feel hungry, but a lot if it is in my mind not my stomach. I too have had some things stick and come up. But I still feel like I can eat too much. Plus it's hard not to drink while I eat. Old habits.

I am 6 weeks post op and have had 2 fills, 2cc's at 4 weeks then 2 weeks later another 2.5 cc. Now I have 4.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I can still eat everything and quite honestly do not chew as thoroughly as I should but that is because i don't feel any restrictions and have no complications whatsoever. It is frustrating to go to bed hungry but I DO stop myself from eating more than I know I should and just waiting patiently to be in the green zone. So far it feels like I am dieting but I've managed to lose average 2 lbs a week. Been reading everyone's post and just want to say a BIG Thank You to all who have gone through this and who have taken the time to share their experiences.

Patience is key. I had my 2nd fill last week and my band is too tight. It's painful when I eat and everything comes back up. I'm going in tomorrow for an unfill and I'm looking forward to it. So my advice is, be patient. I'd rather go slow and steady than have the horrible pain of being over-filled.

Sorry, you are having horrible pain and having to go back for an un-fill. I guess each person is different. That is what I do not understand why it is that one person may be over-filled at 3.5 cc's or less whereas some are feeling no restrictions whatsoever at 4.5 or 6 cc's or worse yet some don't reach green zone until 7 or more.. :(

Had my second fill a month ago. Lost 3 lbs but nothing more all month! Just got over a stomach virus this week. Violently vomiting!! For 24rs im doing more Water than ever. Im am doing 1200 calories per day. Thanks to my fitness pal. Still no weight loss! I canceled my 3rd fill this week due to the fact i am terrified to look like a failure. I am determined to lose more before I see my doc. He intimidates me sooo much. I feel soo low! Even with a stomach flu i didn't lose!

I just had my second fill a week ago and I don't feel a difference yet. I'm still fighting hunger most of the day and I haven't lost anymore weight. I just moved and the stress of that was extreme. My meals were not so regulated and planned so I'm thinking the lack of loss is my fault. I hate getting fills because this last one hurt like a mofo.... but I guess I have to keep working toward that sweet spot .

Yes I agree the fills hurt! But my surgeon does it pretty quickly. I just hope my next visit will open up the opportunity to better understand my body and the expected changes. My doc is usually very short with me and our visits dont consist of a lot of conversation. But I am taking a list of my concerns and questions and Im gonna demand more attention! lol!

I have a 10cc band and have had 6fills total. I am currently at 6.5cc. I could tell I had finally stepped in the green zone. Up until a month ago, I was only losing about 4-5pounds a month. I know that is right on track what they want you to lose, but we all know we want to lose more than that. When I weighed in at my last appt I had lost 13 pounds. I am no longer hungry in an hour, now it's about five hours. I plan on sitting at 6.5cc for awhile but will continue with my follow ups. My surgeon told me that over time, a little Fluid goes out of the band via osmosis. I have lost 63 pounds so far and have 60 to go. The follow ups are very important. I'm glad my surgeon did the fills gently and told me to be patient and it worked!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
