coffee n weight loss

Recommended Posts

I drink more coffee now than I ever did. Probably 5-6 cups a day with sugar free creamer. I count those calories. I try to drink Decaf as much as possible. I had steady weight loss so it hasn't affected mine however I m trying to cut back cuz I know too much caffeine not good for me!

I'm a big coffee drinker....so I picked up where I left off maybe 24hours after surgery...on my 2nd cup as I type this, @ 5am.....then heading off to the gym.

Never affected my weight loss.....

My weight loss has always been about the Quantity and Quality of the food I eat...very little, and very good......

I drink at least 2 large cups of coffee a day. I, like, B-52, returned to coffee shortly after surgery. I drink with skim, which is considered clear liquid. So, after putting up with clear tea for a week, I switched to coffee. Best wishes. Karen

I specifically asked about coffee when I went for my first appt. Dr. said coffee is fine but not soda. which I can live without... coffee would have been a deal breaker... I have mine every morning with truvia and heavy cream (small amt.) I drink about 2 cups each morning , then maybe a cup in the afternoon if our neighbors come over.. no problem with my weight loss and it doesn't seem to make me hungrier... I have lost 23 lbs since surgery on jan. 15.

The only time coffee affects your weight loss is if you sin against nature and put something that is non-coffee in the cup with it and don't count the calories. My Doc is LDS and has no problems with his patients drinking coffee, which told me he was the Dr. for me. Btw, sitting here with my first cup of fresh roasted coffee from India, steeped to perfection for 4 minutes and then straight to my cup.

Terry, I love your posts, you make me laugh every time :)

I drink 2 cups a day with sugar free creamer and stevia. My NUT was okay with it. I did cut down though, from 4 cups a day. I've been losing consistently (except for 1 month I plateaued, but that happens) and the key is if you track it, then you don't go overboard.

Plain coffee is considered a calorie-free drink. My surgeon said the reason he wanted me to be coffee-free during my two-week pre-op diet was so that I wouldn't be having coffee withdrawal during surgery. Made sense to me. After surgery, he said coffee was fine. Of course that doesn't mean you can have a Starbucks carmel cafe latte full cream with whipped cream on top (or the like)! Those yummy yummies are yummy for a reason--LOTS of calories! I have one large cup with a bit of skim milk every morning--virtually calorie-free. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
