March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

stephanieg89, I told work that I was having surgery, but did not specify what kind. I don't think they can legally ask what surgery you are having, it would violate your right to privacy.

To everyone being banded in March, please know that you are in my prayers! I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Not being required to do liquid, but think I will anyway, just due to ease. It will be difficult, as I still have a husband and five kids to cook for. I am thinking that I may be doing a lot of freezer cooking in the next two weeks!

Someone mentioned Peanut Butter powder...I would sure love to know where to get it!

Hang in there, everyone, our time is coming!

My surgery is 3/12, I start my liquid diet in 1 week, not looking forward to it:(

I have to do 2 8oz Protein Shakes a day, 64 oz of Water a day, 4 chewable vitamins & 200mg of CQ-10, I can also have 4 oz total of any meat cheese or eggs! I'm a sugar-a-holic so I'm expecting MAJOR headaches right away.

I wish the month would fly by, I have a month and a week to go. Unfortunately, I had to schedule it that far away because of the upper gi endoscopy the first date they could take me for that was March and the next available date for surgery after that was March 28...I am on pins & needles anxiously awaiting, and I am second guessing myself wondering if I am doing the right thing, should I tell this person or that person...ugh! I know I dont want to tell alot of people because I do not want to hear negativity so I have only told some very close friends who I know will be supportative, but the work thing is what is stressing me out. How do I ask for time off? UGH! March 28th please get here fast!!

I applied for a leave of absence from work. My first week will be paid ( I saved up pto), my second week will be paid at 66% of pay by short term disability. You should look into it, I had to go to my HR department for the details and they walked me thru everything. With my leave of absence, I had to give 30 days notice too, so u may want to check asap!! Good luck!

I have the worst sweet tooth of anyone I have ever met & I was just telling my husband yesterday that I think this pre op diet is perfect for me because everything I consume is sweet...peanut butter & chocolate shake, cinnamon roll Protein Shake, sugar free Jello (with sweet n low of course!) and sugar free popsicles, unsweet tea (with lots of sweet n low) & all of those packet things u mix with a bottle of Water (with sweet n low) yes, i'm basically addicted to sweet n low, equal, & splenda. But u might be surprised at how well you can do on this diet with no real sugar products. I havent even thought about having a dr pepper 10 in like 6 days, & no headaches..that one really surprised me. I tired to wean myself off (no much) before I started the diet last Friday. Dont be afraid to dive in girl, you just might like the water! :)

The Peanut Butter I got is PB2 & I bought it at Kroger (grocery) in the health food area. It was on sale for $3.99. I mix it in with my chocolate shakes & it tastes like peanut butter cups.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
