Sick Today: nauseous

Recommended Posts

I'm over a month post-op. This morning I started the day with a greek yogurt, which is very typical. About 2 hours later I felt seriously nauseous. I've been continually nauseous every since. I've had a few hiccups but no throwing up, and some gas relief.

I've stayed away from eating today because I feel so terrible [i had applesauce for lunch], but now I'm getting hunger and I feel like I should at least try to eat.

Spoke with the PA at the surgeon who said as long as I'm not throwing up, my band is okay.

I'm not sure whether I'm getting the flu or something else is going on. Anyone have a similar experience or have any suggestions?

There is a stomach virus going around it usually last about a day. Do you have diarrea also. You may or may not have a fever with it. See how you feel in a day or two. sip on broth or tea and try a cracker to see how it stays down.

Nausea can be a symptom of dehydration; I ended up in the ER as a result of not recognizing this.

It's positive that you spoke to your PA regarding this and they are aware of your situation...perhaps sipping some Water would help?

I hope you feel better fast...

Thanks to you all! I am feeling better after having some fork mashed sweet potatoes. I am also going to watch my Water intake carefully to ensure I'm properly hydrated. Thanks!

Flat ginger ale (diet of course) helps me with nausea.

Thanks for the tips! It went away but now it's back... It seems to be most prevalent when I get up and walk around, staying in bed helps / eliminates the nausea.

Any idea what that might be?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
