Where is your Lap Band port?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so I am 5 days post op and have no idea where my port is....I am still swollen and cant feel where it is. Otherwise I have been doing fine, I am back at work and feel great. Anyone else have had this issue? My surgeon only does 2 incisions so I guess thats another reason why I am xonfused as to there it could be.

I'm not banded yet, but I was told it goes behind the layer of fat in your stomach, and generally speaking you should not be able to feel it. You should give your docs office a call. I'm surprised at the 2 incisions, my doc said he does 5.

Good Luck

You can feel your band, but the swelling will have to go down before then.

My is on my left just below my ribs. Most the time its the largest incision and the one that stays the most tender, longer.

Congratulations MsBandster!

Mine is on my right, just below my ribs. I can feel it, it's like a hard bump under my skin. Maddygram is totally right about it being by the biggest incision!

I guess mine will be on the left since the last tender area in my abdomen. My surgeon did 4 incision during my procedure.

Different doctors put the port in different places. Mine is above my naval and slightly to the left. I have heard some have them placed higher or even in the waistline.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
