Surgery Scheduled for March

I finally got my insurance approval only to find out that my surgeon's hospital doesn't have availability until March! So now I'm scheduled for my band on March 6, 2013.

I've been doing a pre-op diet of 2 shakes and one small meal per day since Jan 2. So far only a couple mis-steps but I'm really looking forward to having the band as a tool to help me out. And I look forward to chatting with other March Bandsters! :D

Glad to hear you are on the mend on day 3, I'm so glad I am staying the night because my 21month old would be wanting to wrestle &climb on me. How are you coping with the kids on day 3-4?

Not bad. I did something smart and had my mother-in-law come stay for the week so she has been on kid duty. Next week I am still home from school but the kids are gone from 9-3:30. They still don't get that they can't bump into my belly or hug me too tightly, but we are working at it.

I have to say, I still have some body gas still but really I am feeling pretty decent. Hope you guys are too!!

I am a March 4th! We can be band buddies now!

I am March 4th as well, I didnt realize this forum had been started, I think alot of the March people are hanging in the preop giving updates and etc!! Hope everyone finds there way here!

March 15th date here...one week away and feeling nervous but excited.

Just want it to come already!!

Congrats on getting your date! I'm on day 2 post-op and still feeling really positive about this whole thing. despite the aches :)

My surgery is tomorrow. I'm nervous but ready!

Good luck Abbie! I just had my surgery a few days ago and am so glad I did. You'll do great!

My surgery is tomorrow. I'm nervous but ready!

Had my surgery at 9:30 am this morning and was home by 1pm. Did barium swallow and had hernia fixed. Aside from sleeping I am doing great! No gas pains just a little shakey and alot of cotton mouth. 1 cc in band . Did anyone on here have theirs done today as well? I went into this with a positive attitude and came out with the same. I feel if you take what you read on here good, bad or indifferent, retain what applies to your situation, and keep positive things will be fine for you and you will have a great outcome. It is always good to be prepared for all events. I wish you all success and good luck !

Good morning everyone. well it has been almost 24 hours since I got my band. Still having cotton mouth, I little bit of soreness. Other than that am not hungry yet still waiting to see how I will feel today. Cannot wait for the cotton mouth to go away. Have a great day everyone!

Had my surgery last Wed. No loner needing any pain meds. I feel great as far as that goes. My biggest issue is I am having such a hard time urinating. Also, my sugar is super low.

Are you drinking water? You could be dehydrated. If you have diabetes and normally take medication and continue to take the same amount while you're eating far less, that could cause low blood sugar. You might want to call your regular doctor.

Had my surgery this morning, all went well. I did cry going in to the operating room, I was so nervous. But they gave me some valium in the iv &I felt great after that! LOL

I'm now at home resting. The gas pain is bad but walking really helps. I can't believe I have a lap band!!!!!

Good luck everyone, who's next!!!???

So I. Have been readmitted. Iam dehydrated and have pneumonia.

Did you use the spirometer when you got home?
