Surgery Scheduled for March
Hey March bandsters, how are you doing? We should all be post-op now, yay! After 3 weeks of the scale not budging, it finally did for me, so patience apparently is rewarded eventually. Hope you're all doing well!

Surgery Scheduled for March
I have been gaining and losing the same 4 pounds for the last 2 weeks, and I was banded on the 5th. I think this is just the way it goes sometimes. Someone on the post-op boards said don't compare your weight today to your weight yesterday or your weight last week; just compare it to your weight one month ago. Hopefully that can help us be more patient!

Please call your doctor! Since it's both sides it's less likely, but lower leg pain after a surgery is a warning sign for a blood clot. Hopefully it's nothing, but it could be something serious.

CVS Requiring Workers To Disclose Weight
This is particularly stupid given that there is no evidence that these kinds of screenings/ "annual physicals" do anything to improve people's health or reduce costs in the long run. It seems like it should, but it doesn't. http://archinte.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1556801 The USPSTF doesn't recommend most of those screening tests for the majority of people.

Eating too few calories= slow weight loss?
For those of you who found it helpful to take in more calories - did it matter what kind of calories? I am basically full on 700 calories a day (and have lost no weight in the last 7 days, but am only 2 weeks post-op so not expecting too much), but I could increase calories by switching from nonfat yogurt to regular, by adding in some carbs, by eating nuts... Just wondering if there's a method to it.

Need a recommendation for post-surgery incision care in Orlando and Sarasota areas
I googled "visiting nurse orlando" and this is one of the sites that popped up: http://www.vnaflorida.org/ There are probably multiple visiting other agencies if that one doesn't work out. It's most likely a matter of finding one that will visit you where you're staying and having your doctor fax them orders for wound care.

You might try visiting nurse service- they could set up a time to check in at your hotel. Your doctor would need to give them orders but it shouldn't be a problem.
