Yes, huge words of wisom. Follow your doctors orders to the T, don't veer off, don't listen to others, ONLY YOUR DOCTOR and you will be awesome.

The first 4-6 weeks is imperative to healing, so eat only as directed!!

This site is great for information, actually a lot of excellent recommendations from fellow banders, but your doctor trumps every time!!!!

I was banded Dec 4, I am down 31 pounds......I am very pleased. I started mushies when I was supposed to, I started solids as I was supposed to, I DID NOT take any short cuts and start a day early etc.

Good Luck in your banding....its an entire new life for us ;) 2013 is our time to shine!!!

Let us know how it goes.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Couldn't have said it any better than IP9, Follow your Drs orders.

Your Dr & team work for you and with you.

I agree with the above.

As with anything, message boards can be helpful or horrible. Be selective , share and always follow your doctor's orders.

Also, remember in those weight loss commercials, "results not typical".... that really applies well to weight loss surgery as well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
