Recommended Posts

Veggie sticks? Like cut up carrots and celery? obviously those are fine except I have trouble with the strings on celery.... They do not digest very well. You MIT be different. Ask yourndr to be sure.

If that's not what you mean I am Sorry..... not familiar with any other kind of veggie stick......

They may be sorta high in carbs if I remember correctly. Check to see if they are worth it for the calories.

veggie snack chips (if they are in a bag), they are processed and full of sodium and preservatives....best to eat fresh fruit and veggies.

I would put them in the same category as potato chips

Whole foods makes a natural veggie chip that is not processed (in a bag) Yes you can eat these but............................... I did not eat these kinds of empty calories while I was trying to lose weight. I do snack on some of these now as an alternative to chips but not out of the bag and only a small serviing 1/4 to 1/2 cup. These chips even though veggies have no Protein value so you would need to count them as extra calories or snack food. Suggestion if you are really looking for snack food with lap band may I suggest as an alternative a protein snack, examples: Baby Bell cheese, Parmesian Cheese Snacks, (1 tablespoon shredded parmesian cheese in a non-stick skillet melt over low heat, make 3-4 at a time nice snack low in calorie and all protein. but crunchy like a chip) Almonds, count out 10-12. The raw ones are the best not full of salt. I did eat snack as I was losing weight but I always measured them into snack bags and only allowed my self these types of treat 2-3 times per week. Snacking can become a bad habit and lead us right back into grazing for food and thus slow our weight loss. Honestly with the band you can eat just about anything, the question you should always ask your self is this food really good for me and I'm I trying to change how and what I eat or am I just making the same bad choices. Good luck to you.

In my support group one of the ladies suggested turkey pepperoni "chips". Heat ur oven 325, put one serving of the pepperoni in a signal layer, sprinkle with low fat cheese and bake till crispy. My diet will consist of 4-5 mini meals, so this could be one with a couple apple slices. I'm only 2days post op, can't wait to try them.

Google search veggie Snacks. A couple of companies are making snack foods for us who have Lapband.

costco veggie snack chips are all of the above stated AND. ... That bag is huge! They wouldn't last me a year as they should because they are sliders. In a moment of weakness, I'd down them all in a few days. I wouldn't risk having them around.

This is an answer to your question but just a thought. I don't want to costco and find a lot of great healthy things either. I also treat it as a way to occasionally have very unhealthy Snacks. I will go in on a Saturday or Sunday and have some of those treats they're giving out. Depending on what's available I maybe able to have lunch there for free. I get to have items that I can't keep in my house because I won't eat them in appropriate serving sizes.

While I try not to to make this into an all or nothing food plan there are some things that I can't keep in my house because I will eat them mindlessly. However to say that I will never eat a certain food again puts me in a bad place mentally. By having a bite of brownie or a cracker at Costcos helps me scratch an itch if you will.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
