Banded august still no weight loss

Recommended Posts

I was banded in August and today I'm up to 9 1/2 cc . I'm beginning to think this is not going to work. I have not lost weight and I'm hungry

If you want some advice we're going to need a lot more info:

What are you eating?

How much are you eating? Calories?

Are you exercising?

Do you feel any restriction?

Do you count calories?

Have you spoke to your doctor or nutritionist?

Starting weight, now weight?

I am diabetic on metformin I'm definitely eating less usually once a day. I was eating at night but stopped that now. I initially lost twenty pounds then gained ten. I've been the same weight for two months I have seven stone to lose. I have a very busy job so not been exercising . However I live on a fifth floor flat with no lift and I'm up and down these stairs about five times a day. My dietician says not to worry as when restriction kicks in I will lose , my nurse says the same. It just feels a little hopeless at the moment.

If you're eating slider foods, restriction may never kick in and you will not lose.

You eat less food just once a day? And the other meals you don't? I'm going to suggest you watch a series of videos. These are invaluable if you don't understand how this works and it sounds like you're not there yet? Watch these videos. All 4 of them:

Part 1
Part 3
part 2
Part 4

I would strongly suggest actually counting your calories. You may think you're eating less, but less food doesn't necessarily mean less calories. I would also strongly suggest meeting with a nutritionist to establish food and calorie guidelines specifically for your needs.

Remember, to lose weight you must consume less calories than you burn. Counting calories is the only surefire way to be sure that's what you're doing.

Well something is not right. You are either not following your plan or your eating the wrong things. There is no way that you can not lose weight with the band especially at 9 cc's full. Something isnt right and you're not telling the whole story.

I agree with the above post . I was banded in Aug and have lost 40 lb You will not loss weight eating one meal a day, you body need fuel all day long. Get on a tracking program and get on a diet plan of some sort to get started I started with the weight watcher type and went from there. If you eat 1 cup 3 times a day and drink Water all day you will loss. Keep us posted and hang in there.

I'm not sure what I have to say . I'm certainly not lying I would not have come here to ask if I wanted to lie . Your right I was expecting more from this , but hey I was looking for some advice not to be called a liar and to feel worse than I already feel. Thanks for your help.

I didnt say you were a liar I said something isnt right. There is a big difference. Your not eating right if you're only eating once a day. That is not right. How can your body lose weight if you're not feeding it. I never called you a liar I said something is not right that is all I said

It sounds like u need to find another doctor or check out your fill level again, to be at 9 1/2 cc within 3 months is very quick, and certainly not recommended by most surgeons, yes there are some people the band just doesnt kick in and work for but this normally comes to light after a year or so, not after so short a time being banded. Ask for the levels to be checked and then see a nutritionist, if u are diabetic, you should be eating on a regular basis throughout the day anyways once a day and taking metformin, is just not going to help you.

Good luck with this.......... if your numbers are right , i would ask for a total unfill and start from scratch :)

See a nutritionist and work out a plan for 3 meals a day and a calorie goal. It is not good to eat only one time a day. Your metabolism will shut down. What do you typically eat in your meals?

I am confused. Seems if you are eating just one meal a day you have too much restriction.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
