Time Of The Month....

Recommended Posts

Does anyone's band get tight when their cycle comes??? I will be banded one month as of this Thursday so this is my first cycle with it. Since it started, I have been nauseated, dry heaving and unable to eat anything. No problems before now. Anyone else experience this???

Yes, just on this last time and I asked my Nut. about it when I went in for my third fill. I got stuck twice during the week of that time and didn't know what was going on and if I should even have a 3rd fill. So she told me it's common to get tighter during the time of the month because when you swell/bloat, your stomach it leaving less room in the pouch, made sense to me, so I got a small 3rd fill, and have not gotten stuck since my last TOM. I now know I just need to watch out more closely when this time comes around and watch what I'm eating (like softer foods) so I can avoid getting stuck, it's not fun.

Oh and her other advice was to have a hot beverage 20 minutes or so before you eat to help out with this, I have not tried this yet, and of course it depends on what instructions you were given. My nut. has a rule of no drinking 20-30 minutes before and after a meal, I've heard some say an hour, so I don't know what they do.

I'm just soooo nauseated. The thought if food makes me sick. I even had dry heaves today. I feel miserable.

I only had a period right after surgery. I take birth control pills. Sounds like it would be the perfect time to just skip placebo pills and take only the active pills from now on! Anyone know if that is fine to only take active pills? Im on the chewable ones lol.

It's fine to take the active pills. I'm not in any BC right now. But I might be making a call to my gyn tomorrow!!!!

My periods have ALWAYS been so painful that finally after many years the doc recommended bc. Wish I knew sooner but after reading these posts I am kinda freaked out to have my period even with the bc pills! I never really skipped the placebo pills but sounds like its the best time to start! I used to miss work and school because of the pain, I dont want it being bad again because of the band.

That's where I am right now. I had to leave work last night because I was in so much pain. I do want to have a baby in the next year but I think I need to get on something in the interim

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
