okay here is a question for all of you..... when making your Protein Shakes that you add stuff to like sugar free pudding, do you make the box kind of pudding or do you use already made pudding? Sorry I haven't experimented with shakes yet, just mix my powder with milk or I buy the pre made shakes. But really want to try to make my own

Barbm1366, I use a Protein powder to make my drinks. If you use SF almond milk instead of Water, you get a richer drink plus a gram of protein and Fiber for only 30 calories. Then you add 1-2 tablespoons of dry FF SF Jello pudding mix to make it more flavorful and thick. I also add frozen berries or other fruit and frozen spinach just to increase Vitamins. And finally, I add a packet of splenda because I want the extra sweetness. HTH!

Thats sounds awesome! I will have to try that next week. Do you have any other recipes? Maybe we could swap :-)

There is a previous post called Protein shakes (a must see) that has quite a few recipes for delicious shakes using sf pudding mixes and other basic ingredients. I have tried almost all of them and they are absolutely delicious.

Can someone explain to me again, what's the purpose of being a full liquid diet for so long. I am on a full liquid diet for 3 weeks, post op, so I have 2 more weeks to go. I am sure my doctor explained this, but I am curious to hear from you all.

It's mostly (from what I remember) because you are quite swollen on the inside from surgery. You really haven't learned to eat as a bander (or with the sleeve) and it'll be very bad if you get stuck and have to throw up so soon after surgery. I had two weeks of liquids followed by two weeks of mushies and then could progress to solids. Every doc is different though. You don't want to rip your stitches right now, well ever, but I think right now with it being so new and not scarred over is worse.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
