Call his Doctor!

What is he trying to intake? He should be on clear liquids only (water, broth). Is he not able to get sips (not gulps) but tiny sips of water down? With the swelling he will only be able to take tiny sips of water initially.

I got banded two weeks ago and any thing I drunk tried to come back up, my doctor gave me something for spasm and the next day it stopped. But after three tries of trying to consume liquids I gave up and just sucked ice. The next morning I didnt have that problem..

Banded 9-27

popcicale or ice chips is good try that.

Dr called back several times checking on him gave several options. First try sipping hot fluids broth tea etc to see if the foaming saliva clears our of stomach and he still has some discomfort but keeping half down. He did this several times in 30 minute intervals and calls with dr first couple no success everything came up. This last time a little better. Dr worried about dehydration. Said he should be better after the saliva clears out if not back to hospital for an Iv. Finally resting was able to keep meds down. Thanks everyone for the tips. Dr said to try a straw also

i had this same problem yesterday(i was banded fri oct5)...and just couldnt hold any fluids down yesterday....then i sent my husband to buy gaterade and between sipping that and ice chips...i felt better....and today,i am fine!!
