Soup And Sandwich

Recommended Posts

I would think that Soup would be a slider, so I am worried about eating. When it's cold and rainy I love as cup of Soup with a grilled cheese. My hubs suggested we have soup and sandwhich tonight.

My mom make a yummy homemade chicken and veggie soup that I love. I figured I would take a pita and cut it in half and put some cheese in it and melt it.

Is that a bad meal? I don't want to eat sliders and end up starving in an hour.

How do you feel about Soups?

When i eat Soup, i eat it first, b/c if i eat it second, then its like im drinking while eating, and i will pb. Also its better to have a chunkier soup w lots of Protein. As for the sandwich, i would not b able to eat a pita, i would do a half of a high Protein, low carb wrap instead. Father Sams makes a good one.

Youll have less trouble getting it down, gave less calories and more protein.

Just a bit of advice from an old bandster:-)

If you make your own Soup, blenderize cottage cheese and add it to your soup, makes it a 'cream' soup and adds Protein.< /p>

I feel fine about Soups. I eat them alot because I like them. They fill me up just fine. I wouldnt be able to eat a more then a bite of grilled cheese AND Soup though... that would be too much food.

I also would have to space out the timing... soup and sandwhich would be just like drinking with your meal.

My surgeon advised that having Soup would be like drinking liquids. If I were to want to have some old fashioned chicken soup, I would need to drain away all of the broth first, then eat the chicken, veggies and noodles. That sort of ruins the experience for me, so I have just not had any.

Remember the "rule": high quality Protein first and carbs second...however you can follow that rule with soup and a sandwich would work. Soup is not going to keep you satiated for as long as Protein will.

I love Soup and eat it pretty regularly. The key with soup is to watch your portion size because it is a slider food. Also, be aware of it's fat and calorie content. Some can be really high in both.

Just because something is a slider food doesn't mean you can't have it, it only means you have to be aware of your portion size so you don't accidentally eat too much.

Yes, Soup would be a slider or like drinking with a meal. I eat soup once in a while.... hey, sometimes you just need soup but I seem to get full from it, it may not last long tho. As for the sandwich, It just depends on you. I could eat half of a grilled cheese without a problem since the bread is toasted, some people have problems with regular bread even toasty.

If I were you, I would try soup and a grilled cheese tonight. I don't believe in not eating normal foods ( i mean, i wouldn't wolf down a brownie) it is all a trial and error process to see what works for you. Keep in mind high calorie foods but I say anything goes once in a while and in moderation.

I love Soup. I eat it for lunch quite often. My trick is that I drain the broth as I eat it and after all the veggies and meat are gone, I throw the broth out. You get a little bit on your spoon as you eat, but not much. It also keeps me full for 3-4 hours. I usually eat the Progresso light or reduced sodium Soups. They are usually between 200-230 calories for the whole can and about 15g of Protein. I don't think I could do the grilled cheese though. I have tried it several times and it just doesn't go down for me, but everyone is different. Trial and error is the only way to find out what works for you.

But, I would limit it to half a sandwich. Grilled cheese sandwiches are high in calories and fat. It's all about portions. I don't limit any food in my diet (except those items I don't tolerate well), I just watch my portions and make sure I don't eat 3-4 servings of something. I think that is the key to weight loss. That was what I got the band for.

I had my Soup and grilled cheese last night and it was awesome. My mom's homemade soup is thick with shredded chicken and veggies so it wasn't to much liquid.

I made my grilled cheese light- I use half and pita pocket (whole wheat) and put half a wedge of laughing cow cream cheese and a sprinkle of monteray jack cheese. Sprayed the outside with I can't believe it's not butter and toasted it in a pan. It was so yummy and gooey, yet low cal.

We ate about 6 and I went to bed about 10 even worked out between and didn't get the least bit hungry.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
