I am new to all this but keep in mind from everthing I have been reading pre op diets are not all the same. I have saw that some dr.s let you eat one meal a day where others do not,its all liquid stuff that is sugar free, and such.

It all depends on how much you have to loose. I lost 13 pounds in 14 days. Usually it is a detoxing and cleansing of your system to get rid of all the carbs, sugars, etc. I didn't continue at that rate post surgery.

I lost 13 lbs, started at 243 and was right around 230 the day of surgery. I wasn't given a pre-op diet per se, just Clear Liquids the day before. I opted to do Protein Shakes during the day and a salad at night, then 5 days before surgery went to all Protein shakes.< /p>

I was on Optifast for 2 wks pre op. I lost 22 lbs. In addition to 5 shakes each day i was allowed 2 sugar free Popsicles , low sodium v8 juice -8 oz and broth if I really thought I needed it. I didnt. I allow could drink caffeine free tea or coffee with no sugar.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
