My nutritionist gave me a formula for Protein intake:

Body weight x 0.3 = grams of Protein

Some people also experience hair loss as a result of anasthesia, so there's not a lot you can do except making sure you are getting in proper nutrition.

I had some Hair loss starting in months 3-4 post op and it finally seems to be wearing down (after 2 months).

Just do what you can, like taking Vitamins and getting good Protein. It will stop at some point.

My mother lost hair from anesthesia a couple of months after her surgery. It stopped and reversed after a few weeks. 2 friends who were banded 5 months ago both lost hair at somewhere between 2 and 3 months postop, and have stopped now. Not something I am looking forward to, but I do know it will pass.

This is fantastic!

My Dr said to not only do 5000 mg od Biotin, but also take fish oil. Together they will help.

Is this formula per day? I've seen some posts where it was said the body could on process 25 grams of protein a day....confused?

Yes, it is Protein per day. The 25g is at one sitting. There is some disagreement about if the 25g at once is true or not, but I try to follow it just in case.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
