We had a blast at Jason's, but decided to have it at a, um, more "adult" restaurant next time (we'll alternate).

Jack Astors Grill & Bar (635 at Macarthur, north of 161 -- next door to Jason's)

7701 N Macarthur Blvd

Dallas, TX 75240

972-373-0100

lunch -- say 1:30 pm. That way we catch those that work nights & such. If that time doesn't work, speak up! I just plucked it out of the blue. :)

Vote for a date!

Thanks!

Janet

Here's a pic from the March get-together at Jason's. :D

LOL, why not, Paula! :)

50x50 is SMALL!! I won't be offended if you don't use these for avatars, lol. :) And it'll take 2 posts, they only let you upload 5 attachments at a time! :biggrin1:

How cool! I'm so glad ya'll posted a pic! You all look wonderful and happy in the good ole Texas sunshine.

Oh I just keep staring at how pretty each of you are and so wonderful to know on this board. Mikey, you are one handsome feller and lucky, too! That's quite a "harem", huh? LOL

Thanks for the pic. I LOVE it!

How about tomorrow? :)

I voted for every day except Easter Saturday because I'll be home in Houston. Going to a Methodist law school is good for something - I've never had Good Friday off before!

Thank you Janet for getting us organized enough to meet. It was great to get a chance to meet everyone in person and I hope we'll continue to get together. It's so nice to have a group of people that can relate to all the little tics and idiosyncracies common to us all. I voted for April 22 but for no specific reason other than it's about a month away so whenever people want to get together I'll be there.

Mike and I (my Mikey! lol) are looking into getting Dance Dance Revolution on your recommendation - sadly it's going to be a bit pricey and I've spent more than my share of the family funds here recently if you know what I mean! lol. Mike wants to get it because he knows the exercise will be good but I'm feeling guilty about all the money. I say that but then I can't see buying the less expensive dance pad only to have to replace it shortly but we may go that route because the more expensive one is about twice the price! Yikes. Oh well, we'll keep looking.

Thanks for the avatar Janet. I think I'm going to stick to my Selma Simpson cartoon avatar for now. I don't think anyone noticed but I was having a near panic attack with the whole photo thing. I am definitely phobic about it. Hopefully as I lose weight I'll lose my anxiety about pictures. I never had a problem with pictures before but now I start sweating and getting fidgity the second a camera shows up. I didn't realize how crazy the weight was actually making me. (Little voice in my head just said: "What makes you think it's the weight making you crazy? Maybe you're just crazy!" :) )

P.S. I can already see myself becoming obsessed with FitDay. I spent a couple of hours (or 3) playing with the online version yesterday. Yep, I'll be buying it. Thanks Janet. :)

LOL, yeah, I'm obsessing over it at the moment... customizing my exercise & my foods, tweaking here & there, lol, resetting my goals, it's a sickness!!

You hid your fear really well, though I did notice you jump to the back row quickly, lol. :) But you're tall, so you got away with it! Mikey thanked me for covering him up, lol. Guess I know my role!

Good luck with the DDR, we love it! :) We'll have to have a dance-off... someday, lol. :) There's a new version out there that let's you go online & dance against folks... or put in your own songs. It sounds cool to me, but it's going to have to be a reward for a goal met. :) Maybe when we get to an hour of DDR a day, lol!

I'm really glad ya'll came... it makes the board seem more like family, ya know? :)

Can't wait 'til next month!

I dunno if I can make it or not. April is not a good month for me this time around because of Hubby going to India and my MIL's wedding.

I will try to make it, sorry I can't commit. :)

The more the merrier!!

And... (sigh) if more guys have to come (pout), I guess I can cope with that (sigh again)... If they have to (sulk)

But if they don't, that's fine too! :)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
