Not New To This...

Recommended Posts

So, I'm coming up on my one year bandiversary in a few weeks, so I am not new to this. I've lost 81lbs that I am very proud of. =) For the last few days I have been getting stuck every single meal. I try veggies, fruit, Protein, salad, Soup even! Nothing wants to go down. So, I got desperate and tried something last night that I NEVER eat. pizza. Of course it goes down quite easily and I am able to sleep after getting a little food in me. I wake up feeling very yucky this morning, of course, and the problem starts all over again. Oatmeal: stuck. Eggs: stuck. Chicken: stuck. A friend goes to McDonalds for lunch, which I also NEVER eat, and I ask him to get me a cheeseburger. I have finished about half and my body is happy that I have food in me, but I still feel very yucky. I haven't had the problem of getting stuck in forever. Not at all since my last fill, which was over 2 months ago. Even then, if something felt like it might I know to slow down and chew more, etc. I can usually catch it before it happens. These last 2 days have been horrible. I don't know what to do...

Time to see you dr and discuss with him/her your options. Maybe you need a a little Fluid removed. Maybe there is a more serious problem. Do not wait...call and get some relief!!

Although I will add... My band hate grease. I used to be able to eat a 1/4 pounder w cheese, fries, a cheeseburger and large soda. Yikes...I don't think I have ever written that before.... Anyway hubby was craving McDonalds and I hadbone bite of his cheeseburger and wanted to throw up. The grease just sat in my stomach and I didn't want to eat the rest of the day. Not that is your problem but just trying to eliminate any potential problems....

I'm in the same boat as you, but I think it's because of the weather change. In in Maryland, and fall has started. I think the cooler temperatures are the culprit. I'm just taking it a lot slower, following the rules a little more closely (chewing, pausing between bites). So far, so good. Good luck to you too!

Sometimes are bands will act strangely. I agree, see your surgeon, you may have had a slip. Sounds like slider foods are okay with you, for awhile. Maybe you have a gall bladder problem, if you still have yours. I have read(not from my personal experience), that after a great weight loss, gall bladders act up. if yours is, hat would be the reason for the discomfort after eating greasy food. Ay any rate, call your surgeon's ofc, ASAP. Best wishes, Karen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
