I have to agree! I was banded one week ago on 10/4. I thought I felt fine to go back to work on Monday and it got busy and I ended up not getting home for almost 9 hours and by then I was in agony! Tuesday and Wednesday I ended up just half days and now today and tomorrow are my schedules days off!

Even though I feel fine' date=' I have not taken pain meds since the day after surgery and I am not experiencing any gas pain I still get tired when I am out running errands. Give yourself some extra time if you are able!![/quote']

I was banded last Friday 10/5. I too only took pain meds one day. But I have gas pains. I went to work Monday and have been working ever since. When I bend down even a little the pain in my left shoulder is crazy! Other than that I feel fine.

I barely slept and the hospital is a 45 minute drive so it's time to get ready to be there at 5:30. I'm pretty nervous! I've got the "what the heck am I doing" going on right now, regardless of all my research and thinking.

Well, we got my platelets up enough to do the surgery yesterday. Was a bit frustrating being NPO past midnight before with a 1230 surgery time. Especially since they didn't get to me until after 4. Woke up in quite a bit of pain but it has been managed pretty easily. Haven't been able to get up and about since they gave me my night time meds pretty much as soon as i got to the floor last night. But I just cant sleep more than 30-45 min. at a time. Should go home sometime today, will keep everyone posted. Hope everyone has a great day, especially anyone getting done today!

Great! Gas pain/ discomfort was underestimated cuz it's in you cavity not in intestines but walking and heat helps. Only took pain meds for 2 days.

I had my pre op yesterday and My doctor told me to take an ativan before coming in to surgery with 1 sip of Water because it will HELP anesthesia. How excited was I. He also gave me an ambien for the night before. Love it! Im a bundle of nerves and I'm one week out. I can only imagine how scared I'll be before. Blessings to all having surgery today. We all have our fingers crossed that all will go well and you will wake up pain ( and gas ) free and on your way to a new shot at a better life

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
