Your post is so interesting to me, especially because it's your only post since you joined LBT in September 2010. If you've belonged to LBT that long and never once posted even a single question until now, you must be really, really desperate, and that's hard for me to ignore. But before I start sharing my thoughts and ideas with you, I need to know something. Just tell me this. Have you given up on yourself and your band? I don't care which way you answer, but if your answer is "Yes, I've given up," I want to hear you say it. And if yes is your answer, I'll be on my merry way, because giving up is not in my personal vocabulary, so my kind of advice probably wouldn't suit you.

If on the other hand you haven't given up, I'd like to hear you say that, loud and proud. If that's your answer, I'm your girl. I will bombard you with questions, answers, ideas, and possibilities. In fact, I'll be all over you like white on rice. I will pester the living daylights out of you, until you may wish you never heard my name. We will find a way to move you forward on your WLS journey, even if it's a bumpy ride and the scenery's lousy. I won't leave your side for one freaking second, until you finally turn to me and say, "OK, I got it now!"

So, what'll it be? Just say the word. It's very basic though perhaps not easy. Choose one: yes or no. Yes, I give up, or no, I don't give up.

I would like to thank everyone for their support, suggestions and advise to my post. I want you all to know I have not given up on myself or my band. I am pleased with the fact that I have lost a total of 55 lbs but feel I should have been much closer to my goal weight after 2 years. I have a lot of health problems ( diabetes, COPD on 24 hr oxygen, hypothyriodism, fibro myalgia, just to name a few) which makes everything even more difficult.. I have decided to give my doctor, and myself, another chance and will be setting up a appt. to see him soon. Please feel free to offer any more suggestions or comments you may have.

Once again, thank you all for your help : )

Congrats on your decision! When is your appointment?

Now for a gentle nudge about blame. Fat people make excuses. Thin people do not seem to make as many. I am not sure why that is but I know used to make more excuses about why I couldnt do something when I was fat. I am sure your of health problems ( diabetes, COPD on 24 hr oxygen, hypothyriodism, fibro myalgia etc) arent fun and are very real. I didnt have those issues but I was on the road to them... and I knew losing weight would most likely prevent me from getting them. If anything it will no doubt improve them so instead of looking at them as a reason to fail why not look at them as a motivation to lose weight and maybe get off that oxygen, possibly be done with the diabetes and the other ailments. Just something to think about....

Hey! Two Halfs Wow! Yes for me the races help me to train ... If its a Tri then I train so I don't drown LOL but they all provide a focus point and motivation. The hardest training isn't for the run/events ... It's when my entire training was 30 seconds total ... It's very hard to "feel" like you are doing anything in the beginning but those are the very steps that change peoples lives !

For me thinking in terms of Failure around weight is natural... however' date=' I found that moving away from that thought process (easier said than done) was helpful. I think in terms of tools... my band is one tool. My exercise and mental plan/strategy 30 seconds to Victory is another and critical. What is this 30 seconds to victory?

This is the Plan I designed with oversight from certified trainers and mental health professionals for myself. At 430 lbs I needed something different that could carry me through to my goals which involved loss of pounds but also reversal of diseases induced by obesity and related physical degradation. It was HUGELY successful and allowed me to lose more weight and gain more physical benefits than any other patients of my surgeon.

My sister (who had bariatric surgery about 15 months ago) asked me to give her the Plan and so we started her on it from day one. She has lost 180 so far and recieved major physical changes in endurance balance strength etc.., we are both pretty excited. "30 Seconds to Victory" is simply what I named it - based on its core principle that revolves around 30 seconds.

Elcee is spot on. It's not always that we are eating right, is that we are programed to eat three meals a day and two snacks! I did that for several months and my NUT kept telling me to only eat when I was hungry. It took several months for me to allow myself to only eat when I am hungry and ignore what I have grown to do or even what others do. I would suggest a new surgeon, but most importantly, lof everything you eat and all of your exercise so you can really see what you are doing and then review that with your NUT. A typical day for me is two meals and one snack for 500-525 calories and I exercise for an hour each day for about 500-600 calories burned. I have done this for two months now and really feel great!

It really took a lot to break old habits and doing what you think is right. I was also getting all of the Protein and supplementing with a Protein Drink each day to get in 70 grams and still at only 700-750 calories a day and again she said ONLY EAT WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY. You don't know how much she drilled that into my little brain! But, I will tell you, she was right.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
