People don't understand. Tell him your not getting on the scale until your dr appointment.

It takes a while for things to happen and change. Hard to do but remember why you did this. It was for yourself and better health and lifestyle i am guessing. Just keep following the rules. It wasn't over night that we put on the weight so it won't be overnight to take it off.

Sounds like you need to find a support group.

We are all here for you too.

I believe there's more than one way to interpret this...your interpretation of your husband's "look" may not be accurate.

My husband is very supportive of my band surgery and efforts to loose weight, and sometimes he seems to take on the role of my "food police". I accept this as one of his ways of showing concern and support.

Men and women actually use different parts of their brains as they approach problem solving and express their emotions. Check with him to be certain that your "interpretation of his look" is accurate.

Best wishes...

To me it sounds like he doesn't understand how the band and your body work together. It seems that his expectations as to how much weight and how quickly you lose it are a little on the high side. Just try talking to him and educating him on how the LB works as a tool to assist you and what to expect as far as weight-loss goes. Knowledge is power!

"Check with him to be certain that your "interpretation of his look" is accurate. "

a very reasonable option

Assigning 'what other people think' then acting "as if' that were so, is a habit that we slip into using that too often justifies our own non rational behavior.

Immanuel Kant had a very lengthy discourse based on behavior stemming from "the Hypothetical Imperative"....acting AS IF something were true.

Shorter answer.....maybe your hubby is just trying to have a little fun, but in a way that isn't very productive.

I'd jus say "yep, 40 pounds in just one day".

Hope it happens again tomorrow!!!

Haha! I agree with the others, I think (1) maybe he's expecting too much too soon, or (2) you're just misinterpreting him (e.g. it's just his way of supporting you jokingly). If it's the former, the above quote is warranted. If it's the latter, it's still warranted because at least you're both messing with each other. ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
