  1. Hi, I’m similar to you.. I although I had my band done in 2013. I’m now looking at gastric bypass. I’ve had my appointment with the GP and booked into the surgeon next month. I think it’s standard practice to do it in 2 stages.. I had the liquid taken out of my bad 18 months ago so I’m hoping they might be able to do the surgery at once.. given it may have had time to rest with out it the liquid in it. The nurse told me that they will consider once they get in there. ??‍♀️ but talk to the surgeon and see what he says. Are you booked in? Can you ask them if all is ok once they get in there if they can do it all at once.

  6. Hi, would you believe that was the only question I didn't ask.. ( like gosh I'm stupid.. Lol ) But I will definitely ask on my next visit.

  8. Thanks for your response everyone.. My tummy has been very tender. When I had my first fill last wednesday I mentioned it. By morning on the Thursday my tummy was a little swollen and by Thursday afternoon it was very swollen and by Friday I was in hospital. I have a pretty big infection where my port is. I go into have surgery 2morrow morning where they will add a little bit of water to my band and take out the port. They will leave it out for a few months to let my tummy settle then I will have to have surgery again for them to put it back in. My tummy was/is very red, I have a lot of infection coming out the scare and my tummy is Swollen like I'm pregnant. Well my tummy has gone down a little now. I have been on normal antibiotics, really strong antibiotics and antibiotics in a drip. I guess I'm meant to take the long way on this journey. Not much is working. Although I think I'm still losing weight. I guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones!! My fingers are crossed everything goes well 2morrow. I'm still pretty positive about it all at the moment.
  9. Hi Everyone, I've got an infection with my port. I was wondering who else has had one and what happened?
  10. Girls, girls, girls!! Well I'm currently laying here at the Avenue.. With a fairly big infection. : ( Waiting to have surgery on Monday morning first thing. Have been here since yesterday. My port is infected. They are going to remove my port for a bit then put it back in a couple of month once it's healed inside. So it just means that he won't be able to add water to the band for a little bit. So just b4 he removes it he will add some more. The band will still work as normal. Will just mean an extra 2 surgeries. Hmmm not really ideal.. Kate if your wondering.. Yes I would still do it again. I just lucked out. Hope your both doing great! Xox

  12. It's funny I was only saying tonight that mu tummy is so swollen at the minute I look pregnant. I haven't ended up in hospital but there is every chance I could tomorrow. I have an appt tomorrow at 9.00 am in glen iris for them to have a look. As far as the difference I hadn't actually eaten anything until about 9.00pm tonight. I just had a few crackers. I haven't been hungry all day but maybe that could be because I'm taking panadine forte and endone for my tummy I was in bed most of the day. I've been on solids for a little while now. I just have to make sure that I chew really well and not to drink while I eat.. It doesn't work well for me. Yes you do have to sip your water.. But it's not so bad.. I thought that I would struggle with it. But it's ok.. I can drink more than I thought. Sounds great.. I'm in Nunawading. I'll keep you posted on tomorrow. X
  13. Hi Kate & Sussie, haha your timing couldn't be any worse with that question. I just got anther infection. So not doing so great at the minute. Definitely not ideal but still happy I chose this journey. I had my first fill yesterday. Went well. I thought it might have hurt but it didn't. I think just the thought of a needle in your tummy really doesn't sound good. I did feel weird though. Hope your getting excited Kate.. Not long to go for you know. If you want to ask any question by all means fire away. Or even happy to meet up with you if it makes you feel better about your decision. Hope your doing well Sussie on your journey. Have you had your second fill? Hope everything is going well for you. X
