I will be getting banded in September also. I don't have a set date yet. I will know for sure on Wednesday. I'm so ready for this. I'm hoping to get it done on the 14th.

I'm shooting for September! Everything is being submitted to insurance today and I'll know the verdict sometime next week. Once approved (fingers crossed), my doctor is going to schedule me right away. My insurance renews Oct. 1st, as does my $4000 copay! He's going to try to get me in before I have to pay that out of pocket. I'm very grateful that he's working with me on this!

Shake one down. 59 more to go lol :) Didn't taste half bad. My doc uses bariatric advantage.

Hi everyone! I just joined tonight - feeling like I could use a place to talk to people about all this (besides talking constantly to my boyfriend about it when he doesn't necessarily get it).

Anyways' date=' I'm set for lap band surgery on September 11th... looks like I'm not the only one scheduled for that day here! Today was my first day of the pre-op diet which is really just like atkins, but it sounds like others are on a strictly liquid diet already? I'm only supposed to do liquid only for one day before and then after surgery of course... interesting that everything can be so different with differnt surgeons....[/quote']

I love this site too. I talk a lot to my husband but he doesn't understand why I need this. He thinks it is all about appearance and says I am perfect the way I am. And then I told one friend and she told me I was being irresponsible and I should think of my family not myself. So since then haven't told anyone else, so I love being able to talk to others who are in the same situation.

She is ridiculous! None of us are in this for thrill seeking. We are taking steps to ensure we ARE around for our friends and family or not a burden to them 20 yrs down the road when co-morbidity complications come around.

Whew.... ANYWAY... this site is amazing!! Welcome!!

My doctor used that too but I couldn't stand the taste of it. or any of them for that matter lol

Awwe well I don't mind it at all! I guess I'm lucky!

I second what RhondaMaria said!! You have to let go of the negative things people say!!! You just keep going, were here for you!!!!

Latest are added!! Up to 44 and 3 still in a holding pattern.

Please bear with m' date=' but I "had to" alphabetize each date. It was driving me crazy all willy nilly. If I bumped you off or anything, please just say so!!

Yep... I picked your's up pretty early on when I was plucking from past posts.

I an getting banded on September 5, super excited, yet nervous.

IRRESPONSIBLE??????? Hold me back! That just ticks me off. I am sure your friend meant well but....jeesh! I think it is irresponsible to be obese and not give a lick if you aren't around 10 years from now to care about your family because you dropped dead of a heart attack while on your way to your favorite fast food joint. Not trying to sound harsh but...jeesh!

Come visit this forum as many times as you want if you want encouragement. That I what I have gotten from this site and I don't really listen to any naysayers. Good luck.....to all of us!

I'm getting banded in September...Can't wait to look and feel better' date=' but definitely nervous about the procedure and immediately post op! Sounds like more pain than I was expecting! I was thinking it would be like gall bladder surgery...anyone can compare that for me?[/quote']

I was banded 5/23/12. For me the recovery was much easier than it was for my gallbladder surgery. I had pain up through my shoulder the first day from the gas they fill you with but if you walk ALOT even just in your home (I did Laps around the outside) it is mostly gone after the first day. My only problem was with bending over, I was sore for a few weeks where the port is. Hope this helps.

I'm getting banded Sept. 6. Getting through this pre-op diet one day at a time.

Me too, day 4. Some days are harder than others.
