I'm hoping someone can relate and give me some hope. I've always had irregular periods. Some lasting 3 months and recently not having one for 2 years!!! I've been on BC since I was 13 to regulate periods and stopped 3 years ago. Jan 2011 I had pre-cancerous cells removed from my cervix. I decided to get banded as I've always been told my weight was preventing me from getting preggo. I've lost 80lbs since being banded feb 1. And still no period. I really hope this changes I would love to have at least one baby

Anyone else have my bad luck???

I saw your post and I just had to post.first let me say I know exactly how you feel. I have always had female problems my whole young life. I too was on BC from 15 to about18 to regulate my periods, but quit doing that because I didn't like the way it made me feel. My periods would come and go 2 to 3 times a year. I got married at 27 years old and we started trying right away. I went to Repodruction Specialist and they ran a lot of tests on my husband and I both. It concluded that I had PECOS (cyst on overies). The Dr put me on clomid to get me to ovulate, we did several months of this with no avail. The Dr suggested using a Gonal F witch is a shot that I would give my self every night and then the Dr would do a IUI (intra uterus insimunation. Before doing that I wanted to be as healthy as I could be, because it was going to cost us a lot of money. So for about 8 months I went on a very strict diet that would boost my chances of concieving. In that 8 months I lost 68lbs. I can't tell you how good and positive I felt. Long story short, we did the shots dily for about 10 days and then the Dr told me give myself the shot to make me ovulate and then the next day the Dr dis the insemination. I had to wait 2 weeks to find out the pregnant results. It came up negative. Of course I was devastated. We did this same thing 3 more times with some breaks taken between each cycle. The third attempt we got the good new that I was pregnant!!! 1 month later I found out I was having twins and 3months after that I found out I was having 2 boys. I only tell you my story, so that it may give you a bit of hope. I loved reading stories that would give me luck going through all of this. I definitely would say losing weight and feeling better about myself really had a huge part in helping me conceive. Good luck, it will happen for you, just keep positive, that is all you can do.

Kerri

That is a very familiar story. I had many problems for 17 years. Was banded for about14 months, went off BC and was pregnant weeks later. SO married and trying for 17 years and one day...!! Get healthy and the rest follows!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
