Bored With Liquid Diet Choices!!!

Recommended Posts

I am just moving on to the "creamy liquid" diet... and I just can't seem to get excited about any of the choices! The Protein Shakes are SO GROSS and too sweet to me. Does anyone know of a good tasting Protein shake???

What things did you survive on during this stage?

I would like to know of a good tasting Protein Shake, too. I've tried just about everything and they all make me gag.

I never found anything good tasting. You can get flavorless Protein Powder and put it in your food. I was so happy to eat normally so I could get my Protein from food.

Equate generic form Oscar slim fast is really good. The only thing about it is it only offers 10g of Protein and it's packed with 170 calories. Im 5 days post op and I'll usually drink half a can then drink some Water or g2o and a small spoon of Peanut Butter for more protein and drink the rest later and if I want anything in between and yosicle sugar free popsicles are AMAZING

I got through it using Soup. Good wholesome, homemade Soups. All you have to do is cook your veggie of choice in some stock and then blend to a suitable consistency. Adding things like Beans, lentils, chickpeas ups the Protein content. You can add herbs and spices and give them as much or as little flavour as you want.

Much tastier and more satisfying than those horrible sweet Protein shakes that taste nothing like food.

I found Soups worked best and lots of good ideas on this site under nutrition

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
