I would love to do some ab workouts but I am so uncomfortable lying on the ground. It's like a stinging sensation wherever there is a bony prominence, even though it layered with fat. Any suggestions to make it more comfortable or other exercises I can do for an ab workout?

Lay on a pillow or blanket?

get yourself one of those exercise balls. I do my crunches on one of those and man they are awesome! I also do crunches in the pool. Less strain on the bones and back.

Or try an exercise mat, I know what you mean-it's made a big difference for me.

My honest opinion is just to keep doing them. All exercises bother you at first, but eventually you get used to them.

I LOVE my yoga ball. I even have one at work I use for my desk chair. Just sitting on it and staying balanced will help strengthen your abdominals. It keeps my posture straight too (if I slump, it's harder to stay balanced). An exercise mat may help also. My exercise room has carpet so it isn't too bad.

I used to have a ball when I was pregnant. I'd sit on that thing all the time. Too bad I got rid of it. It was always in the way.

The giant ball makes an work fun and without so much pain. I use the ball for sit ups in every ab workout as part of combination.

I bought a ball today, but I bought the small one thinking one inch (says for 5'3" and under) wouldn't make a difference. Well...I guess my big butt does because it is way too small. I did do some crunches and oblique moves on it. Also did some push ups and leg lifts. Taking it back tomorrow and getting a proper size ball. Felt GREAT on my back, though!

I just started using one at my desk too! So glad I have an office that keeps me out of main sight. I'm having way too much fun with it. Trying to bounce while typing didn't work too well tho so now I've started doing hula hoop like motions on it when emails. A little safer lol. Bounced my way through a boring conference call tho. I think it's helping revive me when I get into a slump too. That or just the giggling I can't help but do when I get to having more fun than i probably should and would be frowned upon by the establishment. J/K ~ but I do think having the right size ball is important.

Sooo....I did that ab workout on the ball Tuesday. I am STILL sore! I've never done crunches and felt sore on the very top of the six pack! Ouchie!! My body was NOT READY for that ball, innocent as it may look ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
