Wear scrubs at work, and have been wearing a 3x for a crazy amount of time. I've been downsizing the top to 2x for about a month. Decided this morning to give the 2x bottoms a try since I'm constantly pulling up the bigger ones. They FIT! Not tight, either. The scale isn't changing much, but my clothes definitely fit better

Thank you! I was beginning to think I was crazy and not coming to terms with how little I need to eat. I never thought about people who are intentionally pushing their restriction to the edge to achieve faster results. I'm fine with slow....but it has to be steady.

I'm glad you asked this Indy...I have some of the same concerns. I got for my first fill on Monday. I read on here a lot about people eating 3 or 4 bites and being full....and I say to myself "How can this be good for you?" That can't possibly be the point. Yes, I realize I need to loose weight, but we also need to eat healthy and fulfill the requirements set out before us.
Thank you Mis for clarifying some things.

It's confusing, I agree. The fact so many walk around with their bands too tight then post about it here as if it's normal doesn't help either.
You correct what restriction is supposed to be: Satisfied with no more than 1 cup of food for 4-5 hours. That doesn't mean you won't physically be able to eat more than a cup of food but that you'll no longer be hunger after a cup of food.
Some people intentionally make their bands tighter than that. As for myself, I'm way too afraid of slips and prefer to keep mine reasonable.

Sooo....I did that ab workout on the ball Tuesday. I am STILL sore! I've never done crunches and felt sore on the very top of the six pack! Ouchie!! My body was NOT READY for that ball, innocent as it may look

I am 5 weeks out from surgery, completely unfilled and no fill for another two weeks. I can easily eat 1 1/2 cups of food at a meal and Snacks in between. I have maintained my weight the past 4 weeks. I am trying to wrap my head around what proper restriction feels like. I assumed the "green zone" would have me eating up to 1 cup per meal and satisfy me for 4-5 hours. But I see people all the time on here saying the hit the zone and are eating six bites and they are full. How are six bites helping you reach your Protein requirements? I don't want to rely on supplements for my nutrition. I want to be able to eat a healthy diet that is satisfying. Is six dime-sized bites really what I'm trying to achieve with fills?
    Confused.

To pink delhia. I have had farmed salmon and wild caught ( god who has the 20 dollars and up a pound for that and get it once a year?) have been cooking with the farmed for years, and can't taste dirtiness. If you buy your food from a respectable market with high standards you shouldn't have a problem with so called "dirty " tasting fish. The real culprit with "fishy" tasting salmon is on how long you cook it, or should I say to what internal temperature. All fish should be cooked to a final temperature of a 145 degrees for maximum taste and the best texture. A little hint for rookie salmon cookers: if it has skin ( you do get more Omega 3s from the fat layer between the fish and skin, but a lot of people can get it from pills too) start the fish skin side down in the pan and then flip when you see the color start to turn half way up the fish ( if you have a thick piece you might have to finish it in the oven)
Start with a hot pan, add oil if using ( your oil will shimmer when hot)
Make sure your fish is blotted dry and seasoned if you want
If your fish doesn't have skin place "presentation " side down first ( this is the side that doesn't that've the dark gray on it from the skin)
Give the pan a little shake when putting it in so it will have less chance of sticking
Brown ( remember you are the master of your pan, if it is cooking too fast take it off the fire, if needs be take it out of the pan until it cools down enough) the first side is most important for browning, this "crust" will give you excellent flavor.
Flip gently and brown other side
This is where a lot of people kinda ask a lot of questions ( like my husband) "well how do I know it is done?". Stick a digital thermometer ( get one, it will make your life in the kitchen much more simple) into the thickest part of the meat. I pick it up with a pair of tongs And put it straight into the side half way through the meat. When it reads 135-140 degrees it can be taken out of the pan and let it rest for 2-3 minutes and it will pop up naturally to 145 degrees from what is known as carry over cooking.
Bake, pansear, broil, steam: it doesn't matter the flavor will be good if it is a good quality piece of fish and not over cooked.
Try it grilled on a cedar plank on the grill with a little Dijon mixed with orange marmalade. ( I do the brown sugar on it like someone else mentioned before. But a toe of advice look up the technique of using the planks before using them)
Getting fancy? Wrap it up in parchment paper (like a little envelope) with white wine, lemon slices, capers and dill ( the technique is called "en papillote" literally means in paper. Sounds fancy but actually really simple.
Sorry if I got a little long winded but I am extremely passionate about cooking and can give a few pointers on the how's to the people not in the know. It is my job to know a lot of this stuff and to learn how to teach it to others. Lol kinda funny a professional chef trying to learn to eat to live when I work in an industry born from the pleasures of living to eat. At least I learned how Healthier cooking along side unhealthy in culinary school.

The peeps at work say they can see it, in my face and the way my scrubs are loose. I just bought a 2x dress from old navy and it fit great! Normally a 3x, so I am pleased. My clothes are fitting looser. I've lost 29 total.

This is a great accomplishment! Congrats!
This is on my bucket list of NSV. My husband accidentally saw my secret list and read the "cross my legs" and started laughing. I was SO hurt. I can't imagine he understands that this would be huge for a fat girl.

Had my 2nd post op appointment with the surgeon (and possible fill) scheduled for today - 4 weeks. They called yesterday and had to reschedule. Due to conflicts, I won't see him until Aug 8th - three more weeks!!
At first, I was really bummed and worried about possible weight gain w/o that fill. Then I decided this is the perfect opportunity to get my head in the right place. Focus on my portions, menus, and exercise. This is the time I can perfect my habits without rushing into a fill. I am OKAY with this.

Taking the step to have LapBand surgery does not mean that we are cured. It's a process, a journey. There will be good days & bad days. What counts the most is that we're growing & we are all healthier. We can all play with our kids/grandkids w/out feeling like we're going to die. We can all get of the meds we are on. We can all take a flight of stairs, no problem. & we can all have skinny sex, yes I said it.
I see lots of post where we are simply our worst enemy & beat ourselves up for habits we have had for a lifetime. If we eat something were not suppose to, it's okay. We're on a journey & we will make mistakes. Any weight loss is good & we should all Celebrate milestones other than weightloss. Like today I took my blood pressure & it was in the normal range. It hadn't been normal in years. Sweet! I didn't weigh myself & don't care if I'm up or down. There are so many other things we can focus on even if just for a short time.
Stay positive & keep moving forward. We can do it!
