Hello everyone, My name is Vicki. I have not been banded yet but I have my first appt. on July 30. I'm excited and scaried at the same time. But I'm ready to make a change. I've been reading everything I can about the lapband surgery, watching utube videos other bander have posted. Does anyone here have any advise for me.

On the right side of this page are "recent magazine articles". Jean McMillan wrote a book all bandsters should read.

Don't expect to lose a lot of weight the first 6 weeks or until you get a fill that gives you restriction. And search for bandster hell in these forums so you won't be surprised when it happens.

It is harder than I thought it would be. To say it honestly it is a pain in my butt. I wish I had know then what I know now because I would have had the sleeve instead. Too much maintenance and one day you may be fine and the next day wake up and be entirely too tight where you have to go get an adjustment. It s painful at times too. Just really research it and see if it is the surgery for you. I wish people would have told me the good, the bad, and the ugly before. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
