Lol good luck being good!

For Breakfast I ate scrambled eggs or a veggie omelet with veggies and cheese, lunch was simple.. Maybe some chips and hummus or a small salad with chicken, then dinner was awesome.... Whatever the dining room was serving that night.. Sirloin, shrimp, lobster, or catch if the day with some veggies and Soup. Absolutely delicious, and for dessert they usually have a " diet" option or fresh tropical fruit. I want to go back!!!!

Thanks for the post. I'm going on a 7-day cruise in oct and by then I will be 4 months post op. I've been concerned about eating on the cruise and if there will be healthy choices for me. One thing for sure I do not want to have a stuck episode.

I've been on 3 cruises since being banded. The first one was only 4 days. I stayed the same. The 2nd one was 7 days and I lost a lb - cuz I got so seasick I didn't eat very much. The 3rd one (my honeymoon) I gained 4. Not too bad for 24/7 availability of wonderful food. One day they had a chocolate buffet. Everything chocolate. I ate 1 bite of each thing.

Cruises are easy to find healthy food. I think at least. Every morning, we'd do the buffet - I'd eat oatmeal, yogurt, maybe a 1/4 of a bagel. lunch (if we weren't in a port) was usually the buffet also. Whatever special they had that day. And the dining room for dinner was always awesome. And every single nite, I'd have the chocolate melting cake (Carnival Cruise) for dessert. Best thing I've ever eaten.

Can't wait to go on another cruise! You have me dreaming!

OMG that chocolate melting cake was to die for!! My husband and dad ordered it every single night and I would usually steel a bite! Lol

Yes, I do agree it is easy to make good choices on cruises just gotta stay strong to avoid all of that delucious evil food available 24 hours!!!!

It's like a chocolate "souffle" in a little ceramic bowl.. ( just the right portion) and it comes with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side.... The cake is piping hot so when you mix the two it just melts.... OMG MY MOUTH IS WATERING!!!

My mom actually went to the Chefs dinner (where they sit with about 25 others at the Chefs table and tour the galley, learn some of Carnivals dishes, etc) and got the recipe for chocolate Melting Cake. I made it for a poker party a couple mths ago. Turned out fantastic. There's only like 5 ingredients - pretty easy to make. If you want it, I can email it to you!

We just got back from the carnival magic. I actually lost a pound!! I ate small amounts (but was able to eat a slice of French toast 3 days! Love that and haven't been doing bread for a while!!). My husband loved the chocolate melting cake as well. He ate it each night. I didn't realize that he liked it so much or I would have tried to make it for him. If you have the recipe would you mind sending it to me also please? I want to see if I can "slim it down" somehow.

Way to go JennyBee!!

When I cruise I do the buffet most often. I check out the entire thing to make my choices first, then get a small plate and dish up my selections. They always have healthy choices available. Too bad they don't band our brains to enforce the healthy choices. The good news is, at least on Princess, the deserts are just tiny. So one piece is enough to satisfy my incredible sweet tooth without going way high on calories.

I HAVE had stuck episodes on cruises. At least even the public toilets have private stalls. Be sure you learn where they all are. Then again, I have stuck episodes just about everywhere.

Our last cruise, I lost weight also...

I decided to go for it and be a complete hedonist for 9 days........didn't care what I would eat, drink, etc....was going to put the band to the test!!!!!

Know what? The band was right there doing it's job....no matter what I put on my plate, or how much, the portion size I could eat was no different than any other day.

And the types of food I cannot tolerate didn't change just because I was on ship.

Sure I snacked all day....but it all worked out. (skinny people snack too....it's part of the new life)

That's the thing about the band....there is nothing you can do to make it less effective than what it is adjusted to do....

Now if you don't have adequate restriction, and you're always fighting the over eating and cravings....that's another story.

Plus I was doing my daily 5K's at 5:30 every morning, always took the stairs, had bottled Water in my hands at all times, and took my Protein supplements.

I LOVE my band....best (and easiest) thing I have ever done for weight loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
