I was reading here yesterday that Cigna changed their policy to 3 months of dietary appointments from the previous 6 month requirement. I called my surgery consultant and he not only didnt believe me but emphatically said it wasn't true. I went online and grabbed the policy information on bariatric surgery which shows a change that took place last month (May) and emailed that off to him. I am yet to hear back ... I am on an extremely tight time scale with my surgery and getting the insurance approval sooner would make things so much easier. It just seems like the folks over at my surgery center dont want to go the extra mile. I am so frustrated!!!!! Does anyone have any further information on Cigna's policy change on bariatric surgery?

Yes you are absolutely RIGHT!

I am with CIGNA and my surgical unit called me about 3 wks ago to tell me. I have now been approved and will have surgery On July 6th. Whats wrong with those people? Don't they know we...(Lapbandtalkers)...are a tight knit group? <_<

Seriously, Longleggs, good luck with this! Feel free to contact me if you need anymore info.

I would go and see them and ask them to check it out while u are there, they should be up to par on any changes an insurance makes whether its good news or bad ... insist they find out for certain, after all 3 months less is a big issue for prospective bandsters :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
