Am going for my 3 week check up next Wednesday and the nurse said the doctor will probably do my first full that day. Is that normal? Does that seem too early?

Just wondering...

In my opinion - the sooner the better. It typically takes multiple fills to get restriction, so if your doctor thinks you are ready, I would definitely welcome that. My doctor is very aggressive, which I love. I am one of those patients that didn't feel any restriction until I got to 9cc in my 11cc band, and I am going next week for another fill. He gave me 5cc on the first visit, 2cc's on 2nd and 3rd visit. So, at 4 months banded, I have received 9cc's (almost unheard of). Lots of doctors only give 1/2 cc at a time, once every 4-6 weeks. By the way - my doctor doesn't use any numbing agent, which I was freaking out about, however, it didn't hurt at all. I so look forward to my visits. Good luck!

If you are starting with an empty band I don't think 3 weeks is too soon. My doc put in 2.7cc at surgery and my first fill after that was 6-8 weeks. I reached my sweet spot at fill #2 and I do believe that is how I had great success with this thing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
