Hi, I am now 7 days post-op and feeling 98% I would say. Just having a little problem with one wound not healing but a trip to the nurse on Thursday should sort that.

I have the 14ml band with no fill at the moment. I was wondering if I will feel any restriction (when I start eating mushies next week) or will I have to wait for my first fill? That is around another 5 weeks away and I'm worrying a little that I would see the results I expected???

It's highly unlikely that you will feel restriction with your first fill unless your surgeon is aggressive with fills. At the moment you are healing snooty won't be hungry just yet

I did not get restriction for 6 months; and I am not the only one on this board with that experience. If you have not yet done so buy a digital food scale. Starting with mushies weight out you Protein my doctor says 3 oz. I am at restriction and still weigh as you are guarenteed to underestimate the amount of food you serve yourself.

I am not saying this to be a downer. My doctor never said when I could expect restriction. But after reading on here that some people got it after one or two fills I felt like a failure; because it was taking so long.

Also pre op I had lost about 100 pounds. This meant I had no "water weight" left to loose. I have been a slow looser but I also don't have loose skin so I will take my victories where I can. If you loose 2 or more pounds per week good for you; just don't expect that.

Weigh your food and exercise; restriction will come.

Thank you I will definately invest in some scales. I know I'm only one week in and on liquids but I didn't expect to be this hungry all of the time. I hope when I go onto mushies this will change.

Thank you for your advice. x

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
