Feeling Like A Loser...banded 3/23/12 Need Some <3

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

For the first time I feel like I'm hitting a plateau. I've lost about 30 lbs (including weight lost in pre-op) and I'm just getting discouraged. I need to keep up my motivation and believe in myself. I've recently started using my fitness pal and I'm trying to track my food to get a better picture of what I'm eating. I stay around 1200 calories, I'm getting enough Protein, but I know I need to clean up some of my choices. I still have a sweet tooth and need to avoid those foods. Also, I'm trying to exercise more, just by walking and bike riding a little bit. It just feels like it's not enough. I think I will also opt for a small fill in two weeks. I have 5.5 ccs in a 10 cc band.

March Bandsters, how are you all doing? Thoughts? Advice?

I'm proud of what I've done, but it seems like I've only lost about 5 lbs the last month.

Thanks peeps, I appreciate it!

Starting weight 236 size 20

Current weight 207 size 16/18

I hit my plateau at the beginning of this year (actually started going up the mountain again!) and got another fill. With the additional fill, I've dropped about twenty more pounds and another dress size. But it has taken a while to adjust to the new tightness - it's like I just got banded and have to relearn to be nice to my band again.

Considering your food choices, 5 lbs is incredible. Sweets will cause your body to retain Water as well as add fat if you eat too much? You can only expect to lose 4-8 lbs a month with the band. In the first few months most of the weight lost is fluids. After that if you can lose 4-6 lbs a month you are doing wonderful.

Do you count the sweet calories in your 1200/day? If you're getting lots of calories from sweets you aren't giving your body fuel to work out or lose with.

Sometimes the calories in food dont really reflect what sort of food it is or the make up of it, too much sugar will def put on the lbs if u arent burning it off with vigorous exercise. I did exercise biking and strength as my main exercises and eat around 1000calories a day cycling burned around 500 to 600 intially so get moving more i am sure u will get some more weight off soon :)

Please remember doctors' say you can loose 4 to 8 pounds a month. So 5 pounds is well within that range. How often are you eating sweets? Once a month or once a day?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
