OKay....gettin ready for my banding!

Let me ask all you LB veterans, which appliances can you NOT live without with your new diet?

I do not have a standard blender but do have a hand held one.....is this okay?

Steamer for veggies?

Anything else?

Thanks, Kathie

For me it's not so much a kitchen appliance as helpful things to have around. I have a bunch of 1/2 cup zip loc bowls to pre-measure lunch items (greek yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.). I also have baby spoons that help me keep my bite sizes small. I did buy a Ninja food processor but have not used it a lot. They are very handy to have around though.

buy yourself a blender that you dont hold onto.. you will get your money well and truly back i can promise you. Apart from the steamer which you have, i cant think of anythign else that you need.

Ditto the little Rubbermaid containers... the portions are really small compared to what I was use to so this really helps me. this way I always have a quick meal and i think being prepared is a must to be successful! I have the ninja and I use it a lot for Protein Shakes but I think any blender will work. I am on the mushies stage right now and I would be lost without my little cheap (bought at Walmart for 19.00) food processor. Its little and only holds a few cups but I have been using it like crazy. Good luck and keep us posted!

- I also love my 700 watt Ninja pulse- I bought it at Target for $79 and it comes with three travel cups and one regular blender bowl. Walmart sells the 500 watt model with two cups for the Target price.

- 1 cup reusable containers with screw on lids.

I got a "GE 17 piece single serve rocket blender" at Wal-Mart for $20 and I love it.

I comes with two different blades and lots of extra cups.

Throw in some crushed ice and it makes your Protein Shakes taste so much better.

It also shreds meat up for the mushie/soft stage.

Yes, a good blender is my life saver,. I have, actually, worn out 2 in the 3 years since I started my journey!

A food scale and food processor are helpful, too! I use salad or dessert plates for all my meals, even Thanksgiving and Christmas. I use the small Salad forks, too. If you can get your hands on the small baby spoons and forks that is beneficial, as it will help you get used to the small bites we need. Best wishes to you and all the folks staring out, Karen

I have to put my plug in for my Blendtec blender. It's the brand that Starbucks uses and I can't believe I lived without it. It was costly ($400 but i got it for $300 on Amazon) but it has paid for itself already! smoothies are actually a pleasure with it!

Preop and during healing phase I used my $15 Hamilton Beach blender. Single serving size with travel mug. Yes $15 at Walmart and Target GREAT on ice cubes which is shocking for the price. Digital food scale is a MUST. You can and will underestimate how much Protein you are eating with out it. Again you can get a cheap one does'nt need to be something from Bed Bath and Beyond or anything.

Does your dish set have sandwich sized plates? If so start using one to eat off of; it will be half the size of your usual plates.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
