Scar Tissue/ Hard Skin At Port Site

Recommended Posts

I was banded on the 16th. Around 5 days later my small incisions healed good but my port incision feels hard, like there is scar tissue damage or like a keloid or something along the incision. 2 more days later it started burning. The day after that I went to see surgeon and he said it could be infected but let's wait to see because there is no redness, pain, fever.nothing. 11 days later I still feel the burning/stinging feeling when I walk. I am very afraid that this hardness is just hoe I healed and may not be able to ever get a fill because they won't be able to find the port under it. Follow up appt is Fri the 1st. Someone Anyone please tell if you experienced this.

Hi! I had my surgery 3/23/12. I have thick scar tissue at my port site also, and all my scars for that matter are quite red lately. I had an incident where a few days ago, the port scar started burning out of nowhere. It hurt!! I've had two fills though, and it wasn't an issue at all. Maybe it just has to do with the healing process of our skin. I have thin skin...My scar hasn't burned since. Good Luck! Keep us posted. I'm sure if yours was infected you would know.

I dont think it's infected however I think the port is buried beneath the scar tissue. Was it hard before your fill?

I had mine put in on 4/23. I still have to be careful with it and the full nurse definitely poked at it too hard when searching for my port.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
