I was banded on yesterday! I feel great! I have very little pain! So far so good! I'm looking forward to shedding pounds now!!!!!

I only have one concern, which is vaginal bleeding. I think the surgery prompted my cycle to start! I will be contacting my doctor ASAP!

FYI: I was placed on a 2 week full/ clear liquid diet! I cheated a little during the first week and ate a few things! The second week the cheating was minimal! I did admit this to my doctor 2 days prior to surgery! He informed me that when I was pened if my liver did not shrink he would not perform the surgery! I was told that I'd have the holes and no band! Well after surgery he informed my mom that my liver was perfect! I was actually shocked! Please note I did not over indulge in anything! I ate very little to help with nausea, dizziness, and headache!

So far so good! I'm excited!

Congrats on your decision and I hope your healing time goes quickly and well for you. I had mine on April 15th and have no regrets. The first week was a bit rough with gas pains but peppermint tea and hot packs on shoulders helped that. Take good care of yourself and keep us posted on your progress.

Good luck to you! This is a good place to get information and support. As for the bleeding, I ahve heard a lot of women here say that surgery has messed with their cycle so I wouldn't worry too much, but of course contact your doctor if you're concerned.

Hi,

I'm new to the site. I had my surgery on May 23rd and feel pretty good. Some pain at the port location which the hospital nurse told me was normal. Am still taking my pain meds for that. Pre-op diet was tough for me, but am now on third day of full liquids and am OK with it. I am having trouble drinking all the Protein Shakes because I feel full and they don't appeal to me. I decided not to weigh myself, but will wait until my first follow up visit with my surgeon in 9 days. Am anxious to see the results.

I'm moving a Lil slower but nobody knows the difference. I didn't tell anyone but close family. I'm also ready to start my start to a new me. Next week I'm going to start my hour of speed walking. Also I won't get my first fill till July 6th that's why I need to start my workout regime. I also downloaded my fitness pal app. So good so far.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
