Banded 5/25/12

I was banded on yesterday! I feel great! I have very little pain! So far so good! I'm looking forward to shedding pounds now!!!!!

I only have one concern, which is vaginal bleeding. I think the surgery prompted my cycle to start! I will be contacting my doctor ASAP!

FYI: I was placed on a 2 week full/ clear liquid diet! I cheated a little during the first week and ate a few things! The second week the cheating was minimal! I did admit this to my doctor 2 days prior to surgery! He informed me that when I was pened if my liver did not shrink he would not perform the surgery! I was told that I'd have the holes and no band! Well after surgery he informed my mom that my liver was perfect! I was actually shocked! Please note I did not over indulge in anything! I ate very little to help with nausea, dizziness, and headache!

So far so good! I'm excited!

Congrats on your decision and I hope your healing time goes quickly and well for you. I had mine on April 15th and have no regrets. The first week was a bit rough with gas pains but peppermint tea and hot packs on shoulders helped that. Take good care of yourself and keep us posted on your progress.

I was banded yesterday the 25th too. I am ready to start losing the weight!! I am feeling pretty good too. Good luck and congratulations.

Good luck to you! This is a good place to get information and support. As for the bleeding, I ahve heard a lot of women here say that surgery has messed with their cycle so I wouldn't worry too much, but of course contact your doctor if you're concerned.

Hi,

I'm new to the site. I had my surgery on May 23rd and feel pretty good. Some pain at the port location which the hospital nurse told me was normal. Am still taking my pain meds for that. Pre-op diet was tough for me, but am now on third day of full liquids and am OK with it. I am having trouble drinking all the protein shakes because I feel full and they don't appeal to me. I decided not to weigh myself, but will wait until my first follow up visit with my surgeon in 9 days. Am anxious to see the results.

I got banded on the 5/22/12 I was back to work as a waitress yesterday at a busy downtown restaurant. I start summer school on 5/29/12. I have lost 4lbs so far and eating soup. I'm moving a Lil slower but nobody knows the difference. I didn't tell anyone but close family. I'm also ready to start my start to a new me. Next week I'm going to start my hour of speed walking. Also I won't get my first fill till July 6th that's why I need to start my workout regime. I also downloaded my fitness pal app. So good so far.
