Port Discomfort...

Hi! I am about 5 weeks out from my lapband surgery and am still having discomfort around the port area. I think I've healed pretty well on the outside, but for some reason I can't roll to the left side while in bed and sometimes I can feel it when I stand after sitting for too long. Is anyone else having this trouble? Or if you had surgery a while ago, do you remember about how long it lasted? I have not had my first fill yet, scheduled for 5/29.

Thanks!!

I don't recall it lasting that long for me. Is it pain or just discomfort? I can definitely feel my port, especially if I wear tight pants, such as my workout pants, but it is only discomfort. If pain persists, see your doctor.

I had my surgery on May 2nd and I have the exact same problem. It is definitely worse if I have tighter and/or stiffer clothes on, like jeans. I had my first fill this morning and I asked about it and was told it's normal.

Since you said you had your first fill on the 29th, how did that go?? I am having some mild discomfort in the port area since having my fill this morning. Not sure if anyone else has experienced that.

My doctor was happy with my progress, so I ended up not getting a fill this time. However, I went to group that was all lapbanders and they said they had the discomfort until about eight weeks. Well this is my eighth week and I can now lay on my left side and 99% of the discomfort is gone! Yay! The girls in the group also said the discomfort was normal and not to be too easy with it, that the little stretches you feel are actually good. That made me feel so much better. :)

Glad i read this, i'm only 3 days post op, the gas is leaving nicely and i'm feeling pretty good except for my left side where i assume my port is.

The best way to describe it is a pulling sensation, if i hold my stomach and take the weight i can walk around no problem (within reason)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
