I am new to this sight and have been reading a lot of your stories and questions. I am hoping you all can help me too!

I am day 4 post op, still on liquid diet. Been following the rules the best I can but find myself vomiting shortly after I sip my Water, protien drink, Popsicle, broth... You name it. I have not been able to take pain meds for two days now cuz they come back no mater if I cut them in half or dissolve them. I have SEVERE gas/belching and extreme heart burn that meds are not helping with. I am very thirsty but have yet to be hungry.... Thoughts?????

If you cannot drink Water then you definitely need to speak to your Dr. You may just be having a bad reaction to the anaesthesia and may need an antiemetic. If you can't keep them down then the Dr may be able to prescribe them in the form of a patch or suppository.

I would be cocerned if you are throwing up the first couple of days your stomach is swollen due to the surgery so throwing up will inflam it even more causing the Band to tighten up which is probably what you are feeling. However my doctor put no Fluid in my band at first (which I'm sure is the case for most) and then you gradually go up in cc's but If you are already feeling restrictions then ya you need to go in :(( I feel so bad for you! Hope all is well soon!

There are some people who feel restriction without having any Fluid in their band. I have felt restriction from day one, and have yet to have a first fill, though that is due to medical complications, and not my choice.

I agree that if you can't keep fluids in you, you are following doctor recommendations, and taking your anti nausea medication without benefit, it is time to consult with your surgeon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
