I Have A Cold And I Want To Whine!

Recommended Posts

So I have to admit that this post is a chance for me to whine a little, but I would like some advice too.

I work in an elementary school and was so proud of myself because I had not had a cold this school year. Well we have about 4 weeks left of school and BAM, I now have a cold.

I was banded April 13th so this is my first "banded cold". Earlier today I had a little bit of an upset stomach, my thinking is that it was from things in my head draining down to my stomach. I've never really had issues with this before but was wondering if having a band may make me more susceptible issues like this.

I can never remember if you are supposed to "feed a cold and starve a fever or feed a fever and starve a cold" so basically I've always just ate. Now I think I'm hungry but wondering if it is just a response for comfort. Any ideas?

I'm on mushies right now and thinking some refried Beans sound good...

Thanks for any advice!

Personally I found having a cold with the band was no different than without. I think when you are sick, you need to listen to your body more. If you need to eat then eat, but do it carefully, with usual consideration to your band. If you don't feel like eating, then don't (but just while you are sick) - but be sure to keep your fluids up.

At least you will be fully recovered by the holidays :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
