I HATE flossing.

Recommended Posts

I'm sure there's others who do too.

I've been thinking of how I can get away with not doing it.

Now, I might be making this up, but I'm sure I read or heard somewhere that using a "Water Pik" ( I think its technically called an 'oral irrigator") is just as good, if not better than flossing. There's SOME reason I've been asking for one for the last 2 Christmas's.... some one tell me it's true!

Ah - see I thought the waterpick was just as good if not better. I got one and it was so much easier... but alas, the dentist tells me it's like driving through a carwash... not everything comes off. Better than not flossing though!

I too hate flossing. Its a pain in my a$$. My mouth is too small and my hands too big and arrrrgghhh. I did try the Reach flosser tho, you put these little plastic floss things on it use it and pop them out. Its kinda like a tooth brush with just the flossy thing on the end so it is easier to use and get back in there. Now if I would just do it every day faithfully I'd be getting somewhere. Give it a try.

lol... yeah, I had one of those too. I've had a few different flossing gadgets, I have a "hummingbird" flossing thingy, which I thought was cool, but... it's all flossing, just tech-ed up a bit. It's not that I can't floss or it's difficult... I just really do not like to do it AT ALL! I think I'm gonna give a Waterpik a try.

My name is Mandi, and I'm a try-and-if-I-don't-like-it-return-and-say-its-broken-aholic. :kev:

Hmmm... I think not brushing, and just using mouth wash is like driving your car through a car wash. I think using a waterpik and brushing would be like washing your car yourself at one of those pay places that have the high pressure hose, but going all out and using the foaming brush too! lol

Randy~

Love that comment! My father is a dentist and said basically the same thing. I hate it, too, but he's convinced me that it's a necessity.

I was just thinking how I've dropped off on the flossing. I feel like btw taking my Calcium supplement, drinking my Fiber powder, working out 1/2 hour a day, reading to each of my 4 children 20 minutes a day, mosturizing, cleansing and toning my face, let alone working, taking care of the family, commuting 1.5 hours, and sleeping 7 hours -- what else are we supposed to do DAILY ........and how many hours are in that day??????? Well I guess somethings gotta give!

Water Piks are great! I hate flossing too, so I'm glad someone else admitted it. I use the Polish Water Pick every day in addition to Lysterine and brushing. I use the pulsating shower massage on all my teeth when I shower.

I use the reach flosser EVERY morning and EVERY night. EVERY member and I mean EVERY member of my family have false teeth and I don't want to go there! :) Mom, Dad and Both brothers had Really Really bad teeth for lots of years. Now all have false teeth.

I brush with a vibrating tooth brush (God, I keep thinking of the thread where someone used the vibrating tooth brush for something very personal :) ) Then rince with Lysterine for 1+ min. then use the Flosser. then use lysterine again. OMG I sound like a fanatic don't I? I think I'll go brush again!! :D

Crystal, I also have my wisdom teeth still. and I'm 42.

My dentist likes for me to use Gum brushes found at Walmart. They are like little toothpicks with a little brush on them. I love them. I just use them and throw them away. They seem to do a much better job than floss. I just spent a fortune having all my dental work finished and my teeth bleached. That is the ultimate...those sparkling teeth. You really want to keep them looking that way. I had smoked for years and quit 5 years ago, so the dentist said they should stay this way. They made me little trays to do touchups every now and then with Zoom.

With all the dental work I've had over the years, flossing is next to impossible. I use these plastic toothpicks that are curved on one end, and clean my teeth with that while I'm watching the late news. All my dental people say whatever I've been doing, keep it up! My son swears by his Sonicare

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
