This Might Be A Strange Question...

Recommended Posts

This might be a strange question but I need to ask. I'm going for my pre-op on Friday and was wondering once you have the surgery are you in a post op binder? . I work in the operating room and today we started talking about postoperative garments. Since no one knows I'm having this procedure I did not say anything. But the surgeon was talking about how he thought it was best for compression and swelling. Does this rule apply for lap band patients also or just stomach procedures such as tummy tucks and panniculectomy. Just wondering

My doctor gave me an abdominal binder and it sure helps thinks he gives it to all his patients. Good luck.

I didn't have a binder, but I did put on a pair of Spanx that were to big, the extra pressure did feel nice.

I'm considering doing the same thing. I'm having my preop on Friday and hopefully the surgeon will be open to the idea

I have surgery on June 4th and I called my doctor if he would give me one and he said that he normally does not put one on his patients after surgery but he had no reason not to. He just asked me to remind him the day of my surgery.

I did not have one but I kind of wish I did. One of my incisions above the belly button is at the largest part of my belly and it often felt like something was pushing from the inside out just after surgery- I'm fine now 8 days postop, but I can see how that would be a good idea.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
