Hi Guys!

I was banded in November and have lost 60 pounds since but can feel myself going back :(.. I recently gained five pounds and I know it does not seem like much but to me it was a huge setback. I want to start all over again and get as committed as I was when I was first banded. Do you guys have any feedback on how I can start over? Do any of you know of any good liquid diets?

Don't give up. You do not need to go on a liquid diet. Have you had any adjustments? I know how you feel I had done great for over a year and now I have been bouncing with my weight gaining andf loosing 5 or 6 pounds. You can do it!!! As you get adjustments there yo will see that your body will not let you eat but so much. When you feel you are full STOP AND WALK AWAY!!! I have been doing this on my own since the start. I had to tell my family that I can not go out with you to eat or when I do I woi=uld only order an appetiser. It is difficult but you m ust take small steeps t change what you have been doing all of your life!!! Hang in there. :D :D :D :D :D :D

You can sooo do this!! I spent waaaay to long off the bandwagon and recently got back on track. I have lost 10 pounds already since recommitting 4 weeks ago. If I can do it... you can do it.

I did not start over on a liquid diet. I just went back to basics and cut out all fast food, slider food, ice cream, etc. I eat 3-4oz of dense Protein and 1/2 cup of green veggies. I pack my lunch. Plan ahead. It takes a lot of work and discipline but it pays off.

I have excellent restriction right now so that helps. What is your restriction like? It is imperative that you are at a god restriction.

I had an adjustment and it was too tight. I had 3/4 cc removed and the restriction is too little.I am going back to have another adjustment to tighten. I have gained 10 lbs and I am not happy about this. As i learn i find that it is the right amount of restriction to help with appetite, exercise and proper diet. We all get lazy at one point or another it is important to remember that it is up to the individual to continue to try to improve. For me this is a life changing event and I myst work at it to be successful. Only when I reach my goal weight and even then will I feel that i have developed the proper skills to maintain my weight.

Are you excersising? If not, I highly reccomend you start. If you are, bump it up some and/or change up what your doing. Excersise is such a huge piece of the puzzle. It increases metabolism, burns fat, decreases appetite and I find there is something about it that helps with food choices. Don't beat yourself up about the 5 pounds, but I think it does mean a change in what your doing needs to happen. Good luck. I know how tough maintainance is, I have struggled and struggled with it.

I was very regular in exercising. I was doing P90x and doing well. I got a new job in which I travel extensively. I am now getting into a regular routine and am planning to get back on the exercise routine. I go in for another adjustment this weel. I have a 14cc band with 8 3/4 cc fill I want to get to 9.5cc and see how well restriction is. I was at 10cc and it was terrible I had to have some saline removed. I believe I am ready to move forward now.

I went through a period last May where I chose not to get an adjustment...going to Disneyland. But later realized I needed to get my head back into the game of why I needed to lose the weight in the first place. I am one to admit I've taken it slower than most. I am now in the green zone and feel good about this adjustment and loss. You will have those ups and downs and off the wagons...it's ok. I'm enjoying the restriction I can honestly say...hunger may mean u need an adjustment, up your Protein intake, or spice up your menus

Thanks for all of the positive feedback!!

It's strange I've had a full and do feel restriction but soon after I feel like I'm starving! Idk if it's in my head, if I just want to pick at something or if I'm actually hungry. I have been exercising but due to a back injury I haven't been able to work out as much as I would like.

Does anyone else with restriction feel hungry soon after eating? What do you guys usually do when this happens?

Yes but it's my head I know this! I still do it after all this time:( then I pay dearly for it with the sime factor. There's a book my support team uses called Mindful Eating... They use this in our support group

Nicole

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all fall at some point. Get your head back on track. You've made a huge change in your life and have accomplished so much since surgery. You might try going back to your pre op diet for a week. I would talk to my physician... Maybe you need an adjustment.

Stay positive YOU CAN DO THIS.... YOU'VE DONE IT

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
