Well you have a beautiful face! I think I carry all my weight in my neck. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Seriously though' date=' I carry my weight all over - not just one particular spot. I guess that's probably a good thing. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' />[/quote']

That is good I think, my biggest critic let me know I went from looking 7 months pregnant to 4 months, guess that means something haha

Hello!!! So glad I found this forum! My surgery date is on may 11 and I'm so excited and ready!!! Is anyone following the pre-op diet? I'm wondering if we have to drink 3 packs a day for sure because I usually am full with 2 a day?! Weird but any thoughts?

I would find a way to get that extra Protein in. I am far from the pre op diet but have started drinking the three shakes a day to lose weight for my surgery. My BMI was so high that my surgeon wants me to lose 50 lbs before then. I have 21 pounds gone - 11 of them I lost this week just having shakes!! I am so surprised that I am not hungry at all.

I do however notice one thing..for the small amount that I am taking In..I sure go potty a LOT and I dont mean from Water drinking! Is this normal on such a low calorie intake??

Good for you!! Getting your Protein is is half- the battle!! :) I spoke with my team at my clinic and asked about how many shakes at a minimum I can have because I'm finding it difficult to stomach them...she told me that a min of 2 packets a day plus some of the outlined veggies. I don't "potty" also so I am taking benefibre powder...doesn't seem to be doing much though :( my surgeon is so strick..I can't have broth or Jello either...only crystal light

I ordered plain to mix with applesauce and puddings. I also ordered the chicken Soup. It smells good.

I didn't think of that! I'm going to order some more of the individuals so I can try out the vanilla and the plain kinds.

What kind of shakes are you drinking? I've a few of the ready to drink kind and they are just horrible to me,but I ordered some of the unjury kind and it is really pretty good! The chocolate tastes just like chocolate milk and it barely any after taste if @ all!

To those of you who are on liquids, how is it going? Do you still have energy? I start tomorrow. My liquid diet overlaps with my grandpa coming into town and we Jamaicans love to eat so I know he's going to try to shove food down my throat! lol. I am determined though.

Hi All!

Great to see so many people getting their surgery dates squared away. Today is the day that all my info is heading to the insurance company for approval. Fingers crossed I hear something next week which will put me in the May Bandsters "officially!" Getting VERY excited to move forward with the surgery after the last 6 months of prep!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site. Surgery date is May 24, 2012. I'm keeping my surgery private until a later date ( from friends and others). So I am very grateful that I can come to this site and seek Q&A, real talk and familiar feelings. Especially since I chose to go this route basically alone, except for 2 other people and my main man (GOD). I just didn't want 50 opinions from others getting in my head. May God bless each and everyone of you to have a sucessful surgery.

Then they said that they will firm the date for me. I like a lot of you have heard about the gas pains but I really dont care. It cant be as bad as labor and delivery ..lol Some of have had kids so we will get through it I am sure. I am just scared period. Never had a surgery in my life and this will be my first one!

I am very excited about the whole thing and look forward to living the rest of my life in a more size proportionate body!! Hahah..>Did you like dem fancy words?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
