Not eating all I'm allowed. Sometimes I can't type. Lol oh and I've not cheated once.

It's really nice to hear someone tell you if anyone can do it you can. My husband has a lot of faith in me n I'm so blessed to have him.

Way to go! Keep up the good work. my surgery is next week. I am bouncing off the walls with excitment and nervousness. One thing I learned on the liquid diet/shakes, if you add about 1/4 of a small packet of sugar free Jello pudding, it really helps you feel full longer! Oh and taste much better too.

I have a question about my incisions for those of you who have been banded... I have 5 (I thought there would be 4) and each one is a different size, one is about an inch long, the others a half inch or smaller, is that normal? I never thought I would have one that big?? I was told I wouldn't have any scaring but I'm pretty sure that big one will leave a scar... Just want to make sure I'm not the only one??

Hi! My 5 are similar to yours---no worries. I just came back from my 1-week visit with the doctor and he did not state anything was wrong with incision size.

I feel like such a fool. I ate the week 3 foods for the first week and now there is a swelling below my right breast....perhaps I stretched the band or something. I go tomorrow for the first visit after the May 7th banding. I am going to get bitched at, no doubt. It is important to follow your doctor's orders week by week.

Just got back from my 1-week follow-up visit with the doctor. It was the PORT swelling below my right breast. I did not stretch anything! All is good. The only problems I am having is shortness of breath due to my smoking habit, which I intend to stop soon. I am so glad that I did not do anything wrong (except not skim the soups). WHEW. I am now on mushy foods with the size of the food to be compared to small curd cottage cheese. This I can do! Thanks everyone for listening and for your replies!

Same here! I don't know how I'm not cheating, maybe it's because of all the compliments I'm getting lol

I am a little curious if the ones that are hungry did the full two week liquid diet before surgery.

Wondering if that makes a difference.

I sure hope that I can hold out afterwards, I am getting weak now. Of course, I have been doing Protein Shakes and one meal for about 6 weeks now trying to get weight off before surgery. Which by the looks of it now could be delayed cause the weight just isnt coming off fast enough

Good news is that I got my insurance approval today. I was going to have the surgery approval or not but it sure is good knowing that I wont have to pay the total cost.

Hello All,

I had my procedures this morning, May 14th. Banded Plication, Gallbladder removal, and hernia repair...doing very well. My surgery lasted about 90 minutes. I am actually surprised I feel so well...expected it to be much, much worse. Only some discomfort..minor gas issues. I am on liquid Lortab and Phenergen for pain and nausea.

Good luck and best wishes to all !

Nita

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
