Ever present chocolate

Recommended Posts

Count me among those who don't care for chocolate either way.

If I just *have* to eat some it can only be the Special Dark or bittersweet kind - I can't STAND any form of milk chocolate.< /p>

After surgery, I would occasionally have a craving for a Reese's (odd, cuz I don't care for either chocolate or peanut butter) but that generally meant my Protein + blood sugar level was low, LOL. Now if I could just crave Protein drinks....

This is a great thread!! :clap2: It's nice to know I'm not alone on the chocolate thing. Actually, I kind of knew that anyway, but it's nice to hear others say they "HAVE" to have it in one form or another. When I filled out my paperwork for my surgery, I listed chocolate as one thing I couldn't live without.

Something I recently discovered was Folgers Chocolate Silk coffee. I quickly became addicted to it. It seems to fill my need for actual chocolate at times. Word of caution though if you are trying to limit your caffeine. I used to drink one cup of coffee a day and now I drink 3 or 4.

Here's to chocolate coffee...... :)

the only thing i need in the house is a man whore...actually I already have him...my husband hehehe

This post cracked me up... if I had a good man whore I'd probably give up on the chocolate.

I love chocolate too. I eat 2 pieces of Adora chocolate Calcium each day. It is a delicious treat. You can buy Adora calcium on line and it is fairly expensive. But it is worth it because it satisfies the chocolate craving and it provides the daily calcium requirement. I think each piece has 40 calories. I like the dark chocolate better than the milk chocolate. It is a great product.

I have always loved chocolate! But after I was banded, I just stopped craving it. But today, my Mom & Grandma were really stressing me out & we had to go the store to pick up prescriptions for my grandparents. All of a sudden I had what I'd call a compulsion, not exactly a craving. It was like I had to have lots of chocolate!!! Probably the "food is my drug of choice" thing kicking in. I bought a bag of Andes mints, 3 large belgium chocolate candy bars the size of a small paperback book & 2 bags of Reeses PB cups. I haven't done anything like this in over a year. I ate 4 PB cups & was stuffed & satisfied. I gave the rest of the chocolate away. Yay!!! It felt good! I also passed up the Girl Scout Cookies being sold in front of Wal-Mart!

Jessie,

Could you sprinkle some of that "I don't need chocolate" fairy dust over my way? I fear it is coming to an all or nothing thing with me. Tonight, I threw away some Reeses cups because I knew I would eat them. I literally soaked them in some Water and took them outside to the garbage. I feel out of control around them. They taste so good and go down so easily! :)

peanut M&M's is my evil desire. I have to have them. I have been doing good about not eating or grazing on them too much but I do have to be able to have them in the house. The only thing I hate is that my DH eats them too darn fast!!!

Gotta run, got something really important to do.....

((digging through Tricia K's garbage to get the choc/pbutter))

chocolate? Did someone say chocolate? Where? (sniffing the ground like a manic bloodhound)

I'm worse than ever after banding. . . I love dark bittersweet chocolate, but at least I can stop after a few pieces (as long as I'm in manacles). Good chocolate ice cream is my real demon. Aaaargh!

Off-topic: Jenna, welcome to the 5'9" club! That's one way to get a lower BMI -- get taller.

Now, if we all had man whores, then the chocolate thing might resolve itself....until then...bring on the truffles!

I have a hard time achieving my 1200 calories a day - chocolate can help push me up a little in calorie consumption. I can eat the chocolate and still lose weight - gotta love that!

Holy smokes, batman, I am sitting here dying for chocolate now and this is the thread i find... :heh:

Oh well, I guess that really isn't too big of a coincidence. it would proabably be a bigger one to find me at a time when I am not craving it. *sigh* and on and on and on and on it goes...

chocolate is evil and must be destroyed!

Therefor I must take upon myself to destroy this bag of Dove milk chocolates.

Oh yeah, the doves! a whole scrumptious chunk of evil wrapped in a special wrapper with a message to make me feel good. I don't need any help with that when eating choco, though. I need that when the guilt hits. Maybe I should save those wrappers for later!! but yes, the doves, oh my my my....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
