Finally in my room. Surgery was a success. So far only one minor issue of pain n it quickly alleviated with painkillers. I was told I can leave today if I can pee a certain amt, drink n walk. But I definitely want to stay the night! God forbid I have pain at home n can't manage!

Congrats! I hope the pain is not too bad for you; it seems to vary with every person. I didn't find it too bad; I believe day 2 and 3 were the worst but I didn't even need to take all of the painkillers I was given. Just don't lift anything heavy for the first while, but DO get up and walk about (it helps with the gas pains).

Thanks Shauna! I'm a lil afraid to get up. I'm actually finding myself trying to avoid it. How long after u came out of surgery did u get up?

Congrats, hope you start feeling better soon. In the hospital they made me get up and walk 8 hours after surgery. I have been getting up and walking from my bedroom to the familyroom but I get a little dizzy. I feel good otherwise. I am currently feeling sore

I was up and walking to the restroom within a couple of hours after surgery and I went home the same day. Surgery at 8:00am and in the car by 11:30am.

My Dr. makes everybody spend the night and am not allowed to even drink Water. Also the Aides woke us up every couple of hours and made us walk around the floor for 15 minutes!

I went home a few hours after surgery. Didn't really move much the first day though. Slept a lot. Was moving around the next day though.

Yeah, I think I will be too! I really don't feel bad at all. The nurse seems really confident that not much else needs to be done for me here n I guess sleeping in a hospital, which I have never done before, can't be better than ones own bed.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
